Review | Makeup Revolution Chocolate Palettes

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes
Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

Makeup Revolution offer an amazing selection of products at affordable prices and these eyeshadow palettes are no exception. I just love them. Not only is the packaging adorable because they look like white, milk and dark chocolate bars but the array of shadows hidden inside really are a treat.

Three palettes are available which each have 16 eyeshadow's inside them. Most of them are neutral toned so are perfect for girls like me who choose to wear neutral eye makeup instead of colours and believe me you are spoilt for choice here. It would be really difficult to pick just one palette as they are all so beautiful. Any of these palettes could be used to create both day and evening looks.

Let's take a closer look at them:

*I = Makeup I Heart Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

This palette has a lot of rich earthy tones which includes a mixture of brown, bronze, burgundy, peach and green as well as a bright pink which looks a little out of place if I'm honest but is very pretty all the same. There is a good mixture of matte and shimmery shades so you can easily achieve different looks and the eyeshadows are all soft, smooth and blend beautifully.

I = Makeup Naked Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

The white chocolate or 'Naked' palette contains slightly lighter shades which are a little more pink/peach toned. There are also a couple of lilac shades in there too which are very pretty. Again there is a mixture of both matte and shimmery shades.

I = Makeup Death By Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

The last palette in this collection contains more metallic shades but still in a mixture of mattes and shimmery colours. Some colours are earthy where as others are more silver/lilac/purple toned.

All of these palettes are good quality and the colours are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with any of them!

Review | Two Faced Natural at Night Eyeshadow Palette

Too Faced Natural At Night Palette
Too Faced Natural At Night Palette
Too Faced Natural At Night Palette
Too Faced Natural At Night Palette

Two Faced is a brand that I have admired from afar for a long time but I only started using it last year.  They offer lots of stunning products and I was stuck where to start to be honest because I loved the look of their blushes, bronzers, lip products and eyeshadow palettes so instead of taking the plunge I took a long time umming and ahhing over what to get first.

It's turns out I actually got a mascara first as my good friend Rachel gave me one to try and it is incredible... definitely my all time favourite and the one I want to wear to my wedding in September! Anyway, I will save the details of that until another post because today I will be focusing on the gorgeous Natural at Night Palette.

If you are a fan of neutral eyeshadows and sparkle then this is the palette for you. It holds nine beautiful shades split into three sections, namely, 'Night', 'Classic' and 'Fashion'. All the shades, whether they are matte or shimmery are rich in colour as well as pigmentation plus the beautifully soft, creamy formula is very easy to work with and blendable. These eyeshadows are really lovely to apply and I love that they are no fuss. This means within a matter of minutes you can create a stunning makeup look which is perfect when doing your makeup for school or work. Of course, if you have a little more time on your hands you can also create amazing smokey looks with several colours combined.

The packaging of this product is simple and reminds me of Benefit but is simplier and less jazzy. I also like that hidden in the lid are some cards that give step by step tutorials which are really easy to follow. I love that they have really thought about all lovers of make-up here from beginners to more experienced.

I've been super impressed by this Two Faced eyeshadow palette and it is definitely up there with my go to shadows I reach for daily.

Review | Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette

Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette Sleek Sparkle 2 Eyeshadow Palette

Sleek is a brand that I love but hasn't got mentioned very much on my blog until this week. I'm not sure why but as soon as I realised I decided to rectify it because they have some amazing products for very reasonable prices.

Sleek is definitely one of my favourite high street brands because their colour ranges are amazing, their products are reliable and a high quality and the packaging is compact.  They have some gorgeous eyeshadow palettes available and the one I have in my collection is called Sparkle 2 which is a limited edition palette.

Sparkle 2 is a really lovely palette to add some glam to an evening look. True to the name, all of the shades either have glitter or shimmer running though them and the colours are gorgeous. Each and every one is very pigmented and the shadow's have a soft, creamy texture which makes them very easy to blend. When teamed with a primer they are Lso reasonably long wearing however that depends in how oily your eye lids are and how much you apply.

Despite this palette being gorgeous and the shades all being easy to apply I have barely used it because I'm a neutrals girl at heart so coloured eyeshadows scare me a bit. Now that I have re-discovered it I am going to make more effort to use it over the Spring and Summer and maybe I will even experiment with some of the brighter colours to see if they suit me... I'm not making any promises though!

I'm not sure if this palette is still available or not but take a look in Superdrug if you are interested in finding out.  The I-Divine palettes are stunning and also worth a look. They are priced at only £7.99 and there are seventeen different ones to choose from! I love the look of Storm!

Review | Wet and Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Palette

Wet and Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Palette Wet and Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Palette Wet and Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Palette
Quite some time ago I took part in a beauty box swap with a lovely girl from the USA and one of the products hidden inside was this beautiful eyeshadow so I've been able to give it a sneaky try.

Wet and Wild eyeshadows sadly aren't easily available in the UK so I was super excited to give this one a go and I've been using it on and off since. A variety of palettes are available and this one is called 'Silent Treatment'. It contains three colours, one highlighter, one for the lid and lastly one for the crease which has these words indented in each of them which is really great for beginners and cute.

The three colours are a light pink nude which works well as a highlighter or over the lid, a pink toned taupe which again looks lovely all over the lid or in the crease and lastly a deep chocolate brown with a hint of plum and gold sparkle although the latter doesn't show after application. I love all of the colours in this palette and I find them all very wearable for both a day and evening look.

The texture of these shadows is very soft and creamy so they blend together effortlessy to achieve a flawless make-up look, however they aren't as pigmented as they are in the pan and you do lose quite a bit of colour if you blend too much so I find I need to build up the make-up look with more layers to achieve a more intense finish.

I'm sad the Wet and Wild palettes aren't available in drugstores in the UK because it's good to be able to swatch products before you buy but you can pick them up very cheaply from Amazon (£2.99) so for that price I would definitely order some more to try! The colours in the Silent Treatment palette are definitely me because I love neutrals and I've really enjoyed using them!

If you're in the US you can buy Wet and Wild Silent Treatment from Walmart for $2.93.

FOTD | Spring Every Day Make-Up

Every Day Spring Make-up

Hello Everyone! Just a quick post today and one was was inspired but a selfie I took this morning before filming a You Tube video. Yes, you read that correctly.. it's been 11 months since I last filmed but I've decided to take it up again seeing's as I've now got a camera with a flip screen and believe me it makes things a whole lot easier! For anyone who is interested, the video will be up within the next hour (it's uploading now) and will be appearing on my channel here. My first video's are extremely cringe worthy and really hard to film because I didn't have the right equipment or lighting but I'm pretty pleased with how today's one turned out :)

Anyway, onto today's blog post, a simple Spring every day make-up look. The picture quality isn't the best because I took it on my phone I'm afraid but hopefully it shows the make-up well enough for this short post :) The look I was going for was simple, girly, fresh and natural which I think I achieved. The products I used were:

6 Must Have High End Spring Make Up Products

6 Spring Make-up PicksSpring has definitely sprung, the leaves are green, the blossom is a flurry of white and pink on trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom.  This was the inspiration for today's post, make-up that is perfect for Spring time.  I've been using these products more and more over the last weeks and each and every one of them is beautiful.  For those of you that prefer to use high street products rather than high end keep an eye out for a similar post that will make an appearance over the next couple of weeks.

#1 YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in No.8
YSL Lipstick
I absolutely love YSL lipsticks because they are so soft and creamy. They never leave my lips feeling dry and uncomfortable and although they aren't particularly long lasting they never smudge or look patchy.
My most worn YSL lipstick is definitely no.8Fetish Pink in the Rouge Volupte Shine range which can definitely be described as the perfect nude or 'your lips but better' shade.  This lipstick gives me a gorgeous pop of colour which isn't too subtle but at the same time isn't too overpowering and the lipstick goes with every make-up look I create.

I can't talk about a YSL lipstick without mentioning the stunning packaging. The gold case and intricate detailing exposing a flash of the lipstick colour that hides within is beautiful and is definitely the best I've seen on the market.

Priced at £24.50 the YSL lipsticks are very expensive but I absolutely love them. Read my review here.

#2 Nars Alhambra Eyeshadow Duo
Nars Alhambra Eyeshadow
Next is this beautiful eyshadow duo from Nars called Alhambra.  The shades are perfect for when you want to brighten up your eyes and wear very light natural make-up for an every day look. Both have a pretty shimmer and the pink champagne and subtle gold look perfect all over the lid on their own or with a darker shade added into the crease for a little more depth.

The formula is soft and creamy meaning they blend very well and the staying power is pretty good when combined with a primer such as the Urban Decay Priming Potion.  Team this with mascara and a little eyeliner (if you wish) and you're good to go!

You can pick up this eyeshadow duo for £25.00. Read my review here.

#3 MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter
MAC Soft and Gentle HIghlighter
MAC Soft and Gentle highlighter is a popular and well loved product which is perfect to use in spring. I love teaming it with a pretty pink natural blush to give my cheek bones an extra healthy glow as well as my brow bones. This is one of those products that everyone notices when you wear it and it really finishes off a make-up look.

I will be wearing Soft and Gentle almost every day throughout the Spring and Summer months!

You can buy MAC Soft and Gentle for £22.00 and read my review here.

#4 Nars Laguna Bronzer
NARS Laguna Bronzer
Everyone has their Holy Grail bronzer and when I was first looking for one it was a toss up between Nars Laguna and Benefit's Hoola.  Having never tried anything from Nars before I opted for Laguna so I could try something completely new and I haven't looked back since.

Nars Laguna may look a little scary in the pan for some people but it is a bronzer that can easily be worn by people with different skin tones because it doesn't come out as dark as it looks. The creamy texture blends beautifully into the skin so it doesn't look streaky or cakey so it's perfect to use if you have a pale complexion like me.

This is now the second Nars Laguna I've had and sadly I hit pan a couple of days ago.. I will definitely be re-purchasing it as I will be using this a huge amount over Spring and Summer!

You can buy Nars Laguna for £26.00. Read my review here.

#5 Chanel Inspiration Cream Blush
Dior Inspiration Cream Blush
The most recent make-up product to find it's way into my collection is this stunning cream blush by Chanel.  In the past I haven't been drawn to cream products that much but lately they have been appealing to me more and more so whether it's a cream eyeshadow or blush it has caught my eye.

This particular blush is called 'Inspiration'  and is perfect for people who have a cool complexion. The pretty pink shade gives my cheeks the perfect pop of colour without being too in your face and since buying it I have worn it every day.

The formulation is soft and creamy but not as wet as some other cream blushers I have used but it still blends perfectly onto my skin and gives the perfect finish.

You can buy this blusher for £28.00. If you want to read a full review take a look at yesterday's post.

#6 Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

Last but not least on my Spring must haves is the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation because the formula is very light so it is perfect to wear when the weather is getting a little warmer and you don't want to wear anything heavy. This is a great alternative to a BB cream and is my all time favourite foundation.

I'm not going to talk too much about it because this product has popped up in a number of posts and I don't want to bore those who have already read about it before so if you want to find out more have a look at this post.

You can buy Chanel Vitalumiere for £33.00 and read the review here.

GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Stick Review

GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Sticks GOSH Spring Lipstick Collection GOSH Spring Lipstick Collection GOSH Spring Lipstick Collection GOSH Spring Lipstick Collection

In today's post I will be sharing some stunning cream eyeshadow sticks with you which are from the GOSH SS14 collection. This product is named the '*Forever Eyeshadow Stick' and rightly so because the staying power is like nothing I have seen before in a cream product!

The colours in this collection are stunning and I would definitely wear them all. There are eight in total, four of which I have included here but the others are definitely worth a look too. Beige is a gorgeous light champagne which works beautifully as a highlighter or even all over the lid.  The others in my collection, brown, light copper and grey all look gorgeous over the lid too or in the outta corner and crease to add a little more depth and dimension to the eye. My favourite combination is to use light copper over my lid and then brown in my crease.

As I mentioned previously, the staying power of these cream eyeshadow's is amazing. When you first apply them the formulation is soft and creamy so it is extremely easy to blend with your fingers or a brush but when you stop working it quickly sets and stays in place all day without creasing or moving. The product is very hard to remove with simply water and soap which I discovered when trying to wash off the swatches but it can easily be taken off with make-up remover without rubbing or irritating the eyes which is perfect.

The packaging of the Forever Eyeshadow Sticks is just as gorgeous and works perfectly with this product type. I love that the outta casing represents the colour of the product inside and to access the product you simply twist up the bottom. This means there is no needs for sharpening and you can really get the most of this product as there is no wastage.

I absolutely love the Forever Eyeshadow Sticks and will be definitely buying the other colours in the collection. They are perfect to wear during the day or evening particularly if you need something to stay put all day This is definitely a product you can rely on each and every one of the shades looks beautiful.

Priced at only £5.99 the GOSH Forever Eyeshadow Sticks are a bargain and worth every penny and more. The quality cannot be faulted.

Chanel Christmas 2013 'That' Palette Review

Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette Chanel Christmas 2014 Palette
Hi Everyone, how are you all? I hope you had good weekends. Mine was really nice because I was able to spend some time relaxing on Saturday and blogging on Sunday.  I was went to my first ever rum and poker night on Saturday night with my friends from school which was really different but very enjoyable! Despite never playing before I picked it up pretty quickly and somehow I managed to win! I'm still not too sure how that happened haha

Onto today's post...

For Christmas I was lucky enough for Santa to bring me the Limited Edition 'That' Palette by Chanel and in today's post I would like to share my thoughts with you.  When I first saw this palette I thought it looked stunning and there were two main things that stood out for me. Firstly, the shades are all neutral colours so they are very wearable for me.  Secondly, was the gorgeous quilted design of each eye shadow which screams 'Chanel' in a elegant and subtle way.

After having my eye on this palette since it was first released you can imagine my excitement on Christmas morning when I unwrapped it. The black packaging is simple yet elegant and inside contains the most beautiful eyeshadow's, although, I do seem to struggle opening it!

Hidden within the classic Chanel packaging are five neutral shadows ranging from a light highlighter (which doesn't pick up very well on camera) to a light beige, a shimmer brown gold, a deep taupe/brown and a pretty charcoal grey.  Every shade has a very soft and creamy texture which means they are very blendable and they are also very pigmented. This is the kind of palette which is perfect because you can easily create a simple natural looking eye for day wear and then make things a little darker for the evening so although this palette is small it has it all!

Unfortunately this palette isn't part of the permanent range so it won't be easy to get hold of now and it's disappointing because the shades would definitely appeal to a large range of people. If you like it maybe keep an eye out for more limited edition ranges from Chanel or take a look at their permanent range.

GOSH SS14 PRODUCT LAUNCH

GOSH SS14 GOSH SS14
Hi Guys! Last week I attended the launch of the Spring/Summer 2014 collection for GOSH cosmetics with the lovely Rachel from Beauty Queen UK so in today's post I would like to share what we got up to.

I was really looking forward to attending this event because I hadn't actually tried any GOSH product before so I was intrigued to see what they were like and of course it's always exciting when a new range is launched.  When we arrived we were greeted by our lovely hosts as well as a glass of bubbly and quickly introduced to one of the make-up artists who was giving make overs using the new products. This gave us a really great opportunity to learn more about the products whilst having our own little make-over.

After browsing and swatching the other products on offer we headed over to the nail area where we both had a manicure.  After taking some deliberation I decided to have a manicure with Frosted Plum which is a gorgeous deep, matte plum with specs of gold and red glitter. I've had this polish on my nails all week and a lot of people have commented on how lovely it is so this one is definitely a winner!

The GOSH Cosmetics Spring and Summer collection is full of bright and playful colours which I was very impressed with.  The collection includes eight very pigmented lipsticks in a range of colours so whether you're into nudes or brights there is something for everyone.  During my make-over they applied 'Yours Forever' which a bright red which I really like because it is a true red rather than being orange toned.  It left my lips with a beautiful shine, felt very comfortable to wear and surprisingly it stayed in place all evening.. very impressive! These lipsticks also include vitamin E and oils to protect the lips and keep them nourished.

The new collection also includes eight lip lacquers which are a hybrid between a lipstick/stain and lip gloss. This is definitely a product you could wear on it's own or over a lipstick to give it a more glossy finish and the range includes highly pigmented colours as well as more sheer shades.  The lip laquers are enriched with vitamin E and Argan oil too so they don't dry out your lips which is great because these are products you would wear for many hours at a time.  I had the red shade 'Hot Lips' over the top of my lipstick and it finished off the look really one.  Anyone who likes to add a beautiful shine to their lips should definitely check these out.

The stand out products for me in the GOSH SS14 collection are the Forever Eyeshadow Sticks. All of the colours in this collection (eight in total) are stunning and easy to wear and I love the metallic finish they have. The formula is extremely creamy and soft so they are very easy to blend but when you stop working with the product they settle and are very long lasting. I had swatches of these eyeshadows on my hand all evening and they didn't smudge at all. In fact, it took quite a lot of effort to get them off when I got in, however, the product was removed easily from my eyes using make-up remover. These eyshadows are definitely a must see!

Next in the collection is an assortment of five nail lacquers which are all packed full of glitter but have a matte finish.  I'm not normally a fan of textured polishes but I really like these ones because they have the pretty glitter running throughout them. My favourite in the collection is Frosted Plum quickly followed by Frosted Rose.

Last but not least is a very unique product called Prime 'N Set. This is a fine white powder which can can used to set your make-up as well as a primer too. I love the idea of a two in one product and I'm really interested to see how this works and give it a try as it's so different from anything I have used before. Prime 'N Set is also said to minimise pores, fine lines, redness and imperfections

I will be doing a detailed review on each of the products from the SS14 collection so if you're interested in finding out more about them watch this space!

What do you think of the GOSH SS14 collection?

MAC Paint Pot Review // Rubenesque, Mooncake and Eclair

MAC Paint Pots Mooncake, Eclair, Rubenesque

MAC Paint Pots Mooncake, Eclair, Rubenesque

MAC Paint Pots Mooncake, Eclair, Rubenesque

MAC Paint Pots Mooncake, Eclair, Rubenesque

Today I have a review of yet another Mac product but this time one I haven’t touched upon on my blog before, the paint pots.  I have three MAC paint pots in my collection and today I will be sharing my thoughts on each of them.

The packaging of the MAC paint pots are chunky glass pots in comparison to the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s but are still easy to store.  You also get a huge amount of product which will probably last me a lifetime as I don't actually use them that often, but they are really great to use if you're in a rush and just want a splash of colour all over your lid.

Mooncake

Mooncake is a Pro Longware Paint Pot from the limited edition Baking Beauties range. It is a pretty, frosty white colour which works well on it's own, combined with Éclair or over the top of shadows.  It is completely different to all the other cream shadow’s I own because they are far darker than this, which is the main reason why it caught my eye.  When I have used it, however, it is far more sparkly than I first thought so it is more suitable for evening looks rather than day.  The sparkles also fall out a little throughout the day so if you’re not a fan of glittery cheeks or under eyes then steer clear.  I think this is the only thing that lets this product down, though.  The texture of the formulation is beautifully light, smooth and creamy, making it very easy to blend over the lid without having to rush.  It is also easy to wipe away any product (before it dries) if any has gone where it shouldn’t have.  The removal is also pretty easy so doesn’t leave you with sore, red eyes. This shadow creases a little but overall it's pretty long wearing, easily lasting all day without fading.

Éclair

Éclair is also a Pro Longware Paint Pot from the Baking Beauties collection.  The colour is described as a light chocolate with gold pearl but I find it to be more of a warm toned deep brown, bronze with subtle shimmer.  The texture of Éclair is smooth, silky and creamy making it extremely blendable.  It dries quickly enough to prevent creasing but not so fast that it is hard to work with, you definitely have time to apply it over your lid and blend.  Éclair looks gorgeous all over the lid for an evening look and I especially like it when combined with Mooncake, whether it be underneath or blended out into the outta corner and crease.  Without primer, this cream shadow easily lasts all day and evening without fading or creasing.  This is definitely my favourite Paint Pot of the three.

Rubenesque

Rubenesque is a Pro Longware Paint Pot which is easy to find because it is part of the permanent range.  I find Rubenesque to be an unusual shade when applied as in the pot it looks like a pretty gold with a subtle hint of pink and peach but on my lids it always seems to be more orange toned.  This has often put me off using it in the past and if I'm honest I'm not entirely sure if I like it.  The texture, like the other paint pots is extremely smooth and creamy but I find it dries very quickly so is hard to work with.  You must work it with speed over your lid to apply and blend otherwise it can cause the finished look to be patchy.  Due to this, I would recommend using your fingers for the application as the warmth gives you a little more time.  The quick drying also means it is hard to remove any mistakes.  Rubenesque is a versatile shade which can be worn sheer with one coat or layered to get a more opaque finish.  It is also pretty long lasting and doesn't crease.

In case anyone is interested, I plan to do a full comparison post between the MAC Paint pots and Maybelline Color Tattoo’s… so watch this space!

What is your favourite MAC Paint Pot?
