Review | Makeup Revolution Chocolate Palettes

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes
Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

Makeup Revolution offer an amazing selection of products at affordable prices and these eyeshadow palettes are no exception. I just love them. Not only is the packaging adorable because they look like white, milk and dark chocolate bars but the array of shadows hidden inside really are a treat.

Three palettes are available which each have 16 eyeshadow's inside them. Most of them are neutral toned so are perfect for girls like me who choose to wear neutral eye makeup instead of colours and believe me you are spoilt for choice here. It would be really difficult to pick just one palette as they are all so beautiful. Any of these palettes could be used to create both day and evening looks.

Let's take a closer look at them:

*I = Makeup I Heart Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

This palette has a lot of rich earthy tones which includes a mixture of brown, bronze, burgundy, peach and green as well as a bright pink which looks a little out of place if I'm honest but is very pretty all the same. There is a good mixture of matte and shimmery shades so you can easily achieve different looks and the eyeshadows are all soft, smooth and blend beautifully.

I = Makeup Naked Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

The white chocolate or 'Naked' palette contains slightly lighter shades which are a little more pink/peach toned. There are also a couple of lilac shades in there too which are very pretty. Again there is a mixture of both matte and shimmery shades.

I = Makeup Death By Chocolate | £7.99

Makeup Revolution Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palettes

The last palette in this collection contains more metallic shades but still in a mixture of mattes and shimmery colours. Some colours are earthy where as others are more silver/lilac/purple toned.

All of these palettes are good quality and the colours are gorgeous. You can't go wrong with any of them!

Review | A Sneaky Peak at Makeup Revolution Makeup Brushes

Nakeup Revolution Makeup Brushes

Nakeup Revolution Makeup Brushes
It's no secret Makeup Revolution is a brand I love. I have been using their products since last year and rave about them all the time online and to my friends who now also love them. After much waiting I was very pleased to hear a few weeks ago they have branched into *makeup brushes and I couldn't wait to share them with you all.

I will be writing in depth reviews about each brush which will go live over the next few weeks but in this blog post will give you a little sneaky peak into the recently launched collection which on first impressions I have been very impressed with.

Firstly the packaging is great. You can't go wrong with black and gold as it is the perfect colour combination and makes these products seem more expensive than they actually are. They look sophisticated, professional and are also very lightweight and comfortable to hold which is very important.

There are nine brushes in the collection ranging from face to eyes which are:

Face

Eyes

If you want to try the Makeup Revolution brushes they are all available on the website and some Superdrug stores. They also sell there own brush cleaner.

Have you tried Makeup Revolution brushes?

Review | Makeup Revolution Lipstick in Crime

Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Crime
Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Crime Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Crime Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick in Crime

I recently discovered an exciting new brand called Makeup Revolution which offer a huge amount of products at affordable prices. They are taking Twitter by storm and are becoming a very popular makeup brand which doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Since getting a selection of products in my recent haul I have used them a lot and have been very impressed by the results so I'm very excited to share a more detailed review with you and today's is on one of my favourite products.

The product featured in today's post is a lipstick from the *Amazing Lipstick range in the shade 'Crime'. The packaging of this lipstick is simple black casing which shows of the product well and even has a hint of the shade in the top of the lid which is great so you can easily distinguish between your lipsticks if you own several.  The shade is a beautiful blue toned pink which has a lovely touch of purple and is exactly what I look for in a lip product. The colour goes really well with my complexion and makes my blue eyes stand out brighter as well as make my teeth look whiter. As for the formula? I love it. I was surprised the texture is as moisturing and pigmented as it is considering the price as lipsticks I've used at this price level in the past are often dry and bleed. This lipstick does none of those things, though. It is very hydrating, comfortable to wear and despite this being a bright shade it doesn't require lip liner as it doesn't bleed at all.

Priced at only £1 the Makeup Revolution lipsticks are an absolute bargain and definitely worth the price and more. I will definitely be adding more to the collection as there is a huge variety of shades available on their website.

Monthly Round Up | July Posts

July Post Round Up
Yet another month has passed and we are well into the Summer here in the UK. We've been having some really beautiful weather here although I've been at work most of the time so I haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I would like. Anyway, today's post is all about a monthly round up of my eight favourite posts from the past month. Here they are:

It's not easy juggling and job and blogging at the same time so I decided to write a blog post all about it. I spoke about the tips I have discovered over the past eighteen months and what I do in order to ensure I regularly post and communicate with my readers. It's definitely a challenge and varies week on week depending on what else I need to fit in my personal life or events I am attending but there are some set things I follow to make sure I get everything done.

An exciting blog post I shared this month was about my all time favourite lip products. There were 10 in total and covered a range of finishes, colours and brands. I really enjoyed taking the pictures for this post as well as writing it.

A few months ago I started my 'Things I Wish I'd Known About Blogging' series and this month saw post number four go live. This features a few things I have learnt since I started blogging but would have been really useful to know when I had first started out.

Makeup Revolution is a really brilliant online affordable brand which I discovered through blogging. They have a whole host of products on offer and I have been very impressed with all of the ones I have tried. Check out my haul in this post.

During the end of June and July I found I was suffering from dry skin so I was on the look out for a new product to help with this. The one I turned to was the Origins Drink Up Intensive Face Mask that you use overnight and I was blown away by the results. This month I wrote a review all about it so I could share it with you.

I splashed out on a luxurious purchase this month, my very first Mulberry bag! I absolutely adore it and have shared all the details with you in this blog post.

A monthly round up wouldn't be complete if if didn't feature a Lush product and July saw one I was given to me by my best friend. The French Kiss Bubble Bar is perfect for relaxing because it smells of lavender, it looks gorgeous and can be used multiple times.. what more could you ask for?

Last but not least, there was a fashion related blog post featuring a gorgeous bikini from Lauren Pearl. I'm a little addicted to bikini's so was really pleased to discover this brand and this particular one has a really unusual tropical print that I love.

Wish List | Makeup Revolution Products

MAC Lipstick Collection

After getting some gorgeous beauty bits from Makeup Revolution which were featured in my haul post last week I have been using the products non stop and I've been super impressed by the quality of them. As they are so cheap I did wonder how well they would perform but I have really enjoyed using them and I cannot fault a single product. Watch this space for some in depth reviews of each but in the meantime here are the other Makeup Revolution products I've got my eye on...

The first of three lipsticks in my wish list is Chic which is a deep pink/red shade. I have one Makeup Revolution lipstick already in my collection and I absolutely love it. The formula is really hydrating, soft, smooth and creamy and the colour pay off amazing. I'm hoping others in the range are just as good.

The second lipstick is Sweetheart which is what I would describe as a bright bubblegum barbie pink. I love to wear shades like this in the Summer because it adds a really lovely pop of colour to any makeup look.

This is the darkest lipstick pictured above and is a beautiful deep rich pink which reminds me of Girl About Town by MAC. I'd love to try this lipstick to see how it compares and because I love the formula so much.

I recently saw a review on the Makeup Revolution Highlighters and ever since they have been on my wish list. They look so pretty in the pan and again remind me of the way MAC products are displayed. I also really love the peach colour as it's different from any of my other highlighters and would finish of a makeup look really nicely.

Next is another highlighter, this one 'Golden Lights' which looks like a really subtle, pretty shade that would go with every makeup look. Again, I like the look of it in the pan and I think it would look really lovely on my cheek and brow bones.

This blush and contour palette looks gorgeous. I love the shades and it would be perfect for travelling as you can create so many different makeup looks with just one palette. I like that some shades are neutral whereas others are deep and rich and others lighter pinks. The other blush and contour palette available is equally as nice and contains more neutral shades.. I really struggled to choose between them but as this has more of a mix of colours I chose this one.

I am a huge fan of the Nars Laguna bronzer but having just finished my fourth pan and it being an expensive product I am on the look out for an alternative. I think Laguna will always be my holy grail bronzer but I'd definitely like an alternative in my collection so it doesn't get used up so quickly and as I have been enjoying other products by Makeup Revolution I'd definitely be interested to give this a go too.

HAUL | Makeup Revolution Goodies

Makeup Revolution Haul

Hello Beauties! If you spend time on twitter you probably would have noticed lots of tweets flying around about Makeup Revolution products. They are a brand that I only heard of recently but after looking at the website I have been very impressed by the extensive range of products they have on offer and their low prices. This brand seems to be getting more and more popular and I'm very excited by their products because they look so beautiful.

What better way to share these products with than in a haul post?! Lets get started!

*Salvation Palette - What You Waiting For? | £6.00 | Link

Makeup Revolution Haul

This gorgeous neutrals palette was only released a week or so ago and I love every single colour in it. Each shade is very wearable and is the perfect palette to achieve both a day or night look whether you're looking for simple coverage over your lid or something more smokey.  I also love the detailing of each shadow and the mixture of shapes because it makes this palette look interesting and more unique. It's also amazing you get eighteen shades! Twelve have a pretty shimmer, 6 are matte and all claim to be super pigmented so I'm very excited to start using these!

Although the packaging is simple, it shows off the product perfectly and for the price you can't fault it. The case feels sturdy and is very slimline so it is easy to store and carry around.

*Scandalous Lipstick in Crime | £2.00 | Link // *Salvation Intense Lip Laquer in Gave You All My Love | £3.00 | Link

Makeup Revolution Haul

Next up are two lip products that look very pretty in their packaging.  Firstly the lip laquer aka lip gloss is a beautiful bubblegum pink which would look amazing during hot summer days or to brighten up an evening look. The formula has a slight sheen but doesn't have shimmer or glitter which makes a nice change because I don't have any others like it in my collection. From the swatches I have done it also seems very pigmented and has a high shine finish so it will look beautiful on it's own or over a lipstick. The packaging is also cute!

The second lip product I have is a lipstick called Gave You All My love. This is an unusual shade for me because I tend to always choose pink lipsticks or the occasional red so this is actually the first purple lipstick I own.. I'm excited to use it! I've actually been thinking of experimenting with more purple toned lipsticks and oranges because I see them on other people and really love them so this couldn't be more perfect. I also like that the lid shows a hint of the colour lipstick inside (which is a perfect match) so if you have multiple of them in your collection you can easily get your hands on the one you need.

*Amazing Volume Mascara | £2.00 | Link

Makeup Revolution Haul

The next product in my Makeup Revolution haul is the 'Amazing Volume' mascara in ultra black.  I'm really picky when it comes to mascara's because I don't like plastic wands or formula's which make my eye lashes look spidery or clumpy so this one sounds right up my street. The shape of the wand is my favourite type and the formula doesn't seem to be too thick or thin. I have high hopes for this product!

Makeup Revolution Haul

Last but not least is the popular neutrals palette Iconic 1. I love the way the shades are lined up in this palette like soldiers and the mixture of easy to wear matte and shimmery shades. The colours definitely remind me of the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette but the price is considerably cheaper!

When the shades are swatched they are beautifully soft, smooth and pigmented so I definitely think I will be creating lots of pretty makeup looks with them!

I love that Makeup Revolution is taking the beauty blogging world by storm. They have a huge range of products available that appeal to a lot of different tastes and their prices are very affordable. I definitely have my eye on the blush and contour palette as well as their highlighters!

I've had a sneaky try of some of the above products because they look too good to resist but I will definitely be using them more and more over the next few weeks. Watch this space for an in-depth review of each of these products!
