Review | Rimmel French Manicure Nail Products

Rimmel French Manicure
[The photos were taken on my phone hence why the quality isn't quite as good]

When it comes to painting your nails you can't beat the classic French Manicure. It's my absolute favourite so I decided to take some time painting my nails like this to celebrate the New Year. All you need to achieve this look are:

- Clear Base Coat (I used Rimmel)
- Clear Top Coat (I used Barry M)
- White polish for the tips (I used Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener)
- Light pink polish (I used Rimmel French Rose)

I guess everyone's technique may be slightly different and if you're not too confident with getting a nice curve on the white tip don't give up, it just takes practice and you can also get stencils to help with as a guide although personally I find it easier without these as they can peel the polish off at the edges if you don't wait long enough for it to dry.

Anyway, getting onto my technique, I firstly use a simple base coat to protect my nails and also allow the other polishes to apply better. I then move onto the tips. One by one I move long each nail and paint the tip of it white following the natural curve. This is much easier if you file your nails down before hand so they are even as you can use your natural nails as a guide. The Rimmel nail polish is a nice bright white which makes you nails look healthy and it applies nicely. 1-2 coats is plenty as the formula is quite thick and doesn't streak, however, I do find it chips pretty easily.

Once my white tips have dried I simply do one coat of the pink over the whole nail, add top coat and I'm done. I like to do the pink last as this way I can re-do any of the white tips I'm not happy with without having to start the whole thing again. I also think it looks more blended and natural than painting the white over the top but each to their own.

The French Rose pink by Rimmel is a very pretty, natural pink but again it chips quite easily so my nails only usually last two days max without chipping which isn't great. I'm definitely on the look out for some alternatives which are longer lasting but similar shades.

What do you think of my French Manicure?

Review | My Favourite Brands Part 1

My Favourite Brands Part 1

Hello Beauties! Today's blog post is the start of a mini series where I will share my favourite brands with you. I'm going to give you an insight into my 'go to' brands for certain products and why I go back to them time and time again as well as recent discoveries I love.

This series will include numerous posts so if you want to suggest a specific area please feel free to leave a comment below to request it. I will be talking about a broad range of areas from beauty to fashion to jewellery and candles :)

In no particular order, let's get started!

Make-up Brushes

The first area I am looking at are makeup brushes where I definitely have some favourite brands.

First is Sigma who are top of my list because they offer a huge range of brushes at reasonable prices. The bristles are soft and good quality, the handles comfortable to hold and they come up well after every wash. When I first ordered my Sigma brushes I got them sent over from the US as at that time it worked out much cheaper, however, the delivery costs have now increased so in the future I will order from a UK site such as Beauty Chamber. My favourite Sigma Brush is the F80 which is a flat kabuki and perfect for blending in foundation for a flawless look.

Next on my list are MAC brushes, in particular their eye makeup brushes such as the 217 which is brilliant for blending eyeshadow. Again, the range of brushes is good but I find the quality has deteriorated a little which means some of my brushes, especially my blush one sheds which is a little annoying. Even so, MAC is a well respected brand for brushes and you'll definitely find what you need here.

Last of all are Real Techniques brushes which are a really great drug store alternative to the above. Priced well, these brushes are worth the price tag and are soft so don't irritate my skin. They also recover from cleaning well. The Real Techniques range of brushes is slowly increasing but I'd definitely watch out for the naming conventions on them as I find I often use them for something completely different than they are intended. For example, I use the blush brush for powder as it is large.

Brush Cleaner

This moves on nicely to my next topic, brush cleaner. I haven't tried a lot of different brush cleaners but out of the ones I have there are two that stand out. Firstly, the MAC brush cleaner which leaves my brushes feeling soft and looking as good as new and secondly simple baby shampoo. I tend to use the latter more now as it is much more economical although my brushes do tend to take a little longer to dry.

Bath Products

Next on my list are bath products and there are two stand out brands for me here. The first will be obvious to anyone who follows my blog or Twitter as it is Lush. If you've never been to Lush before because you have been put off the intense smell as you walk up to the shop I would definitely recommend venturing in and buying a couple of products to try. Once they are in a different environment so you can smell them individually they are gorgeous and I don't think you'l be disappointed.

I love Lush because the range of products is huge and they are fun and innovative. When we come up to each season I always look forward to seeing what new products they have on offer and if any of my favourite's are making a re-appearance. I'm yet to find a product I have been disappointed in.

My favourite Lush products include the bath bombs, shower gels, shampoo bars, bubble bars and soaps.

Another favourite brand of mine for bath products are Laura Mercier as their bath melt is simply divine. It's such a luxurious product I use it with moderation but the whole bathroom is filled with a delicious aroma that lingers on my skin and makes it soft and smooth. My favourite scents are Ambre Vanille and Creme Brule.. yum!

Foundation

I'm going to break down the makeup brands I like into categories as I tend to go to different brands depending on the product. First up are foundations where there are three stand out brands for me, two high end and one drug store.

When it comes to foundation I've never had a preference over high end or drug store but over the years as I've tried more products I guess I've leaned more towards high end simply because those are the products that have worked best with my skin type which is combination - normal.

The foundation I have been using for most of this year has been Nars Sheer Glow. The price tag is high but it blends beautifully over my skin and gives it a healthy yet natural glow which I love. The shade match is perfect and no matter what tool I use the end result is also great. This is my current favourite foundation.

Next is Chanel who have a lot of gorgeous products, one of my favourite's being the foundations. The Vitalumiere Aqua foundation was a favourite of mine for years until I discovered Nars but is very high quality and still a staple in my collection. The formula is very light weight and doesn't make my skin break out. I love it.

Last but not least is the drug store brand Rimmel. When it comes to foundations Rimmel have got it right as they offer a reasonable range of shades with a high quality formulation that isn't too thick or thin. It isn't cakey and is reasonably long lasting so if I'm looking for a foundation that isn't too pricey Rimmel is the place I go. My favourite is Match Perfection.

I hope you liked today post and having a sneaky peak at my favourite brands. I have tried to mix up the topics to make each post a little more interesting and go into some detail so you know why I have chosen each of them. Watch this space for part 2 in the series.

What did you think of part 1 of my favourite brands? What are some of your favourites?

Review | 6 Must Have Spring Products From the High Street

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

I recently wrote a blog post featuring my 6 must have high end Spring products and you guessed it, now it's time to share my 6 must have high street/drug store products with you. This was very challenging because there are so many amazing products out there but eventually I managed to narrow it down, although three are lip products!

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in #101 | Link  | £3.99

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

Rimmel is a popular high street brand and I think one of their best products are their lipsticks. My favourite is 101 from the Kate Moss range because it's a pretty matte 'your lips but better' shade that looks lovely during the day to finish a natural make-up look or when teamed with a smokey eye in the evening. I find it a little drying so I always wear lip balm underneath and I re-apply it as little as possible. It's a really pretty shade to wear during Spring and Summer.

Collection Lip Gloss in Cupcake | Link | £2.19

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

Collection probably one of the first make-up brands I bought from when I was younger and now I find myself going back to try more and more of their products. One which recently appeared in my favourites is this pretty baby pink lip gloss in the shade Cupcake. It has a shimmer running through it which looks lovely and also makes your lips look a little plumper. The texture is very light but is a little on the thin side so it comes out of the tube very quickly. This means you need to be careful when applying it because you can end up with too much on your lips but the shade works really well on it's own or when paired with lipsticks. This is the perfect shade for Spring!

Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink | Link | £4.49

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

Sleek is an amazing brand when it comes to blush and is definitely my favourites on the high street. The blush pictured here is a bright pink called Pixie Pink which is very pigmented so apply with caution if you don't want to end up looking like a clown. I would definitely recommend tapping of the excess and making sure you have time to blend it out properly.

This isn't a quick blush to apply but it is beautiful and gives your cheeks a gorgeous pop of colour. Lots of other shades are available too and they are definitely worth a look because the formula is smooth, creamy and blends easily over the skin making this product easy to work with and perfect to wear during Spring.

Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer | Link | £11.00

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

You can tell this product is well loved because I have it pan on it. I find Soap and Glory Solar Powder a great alternative to Nars Laguna and it has been been the one I have been reaching for over the past few weeks.

The finish is matte which is perfect because I prefer to have my shimmer in a highlighter or eyeshadow and the soft, creamy texture is very blendable so you're never left with streaky marks. The shade is also great to use if you have a pale complexion because you're not left looking orange! You skin is given a beautiful sunkissed glow which is perfect for Spring when you want to add a little extra colour to your face.

I'm not sure why the lighter shade has hit pan where the darker hasn't because I always swirl the two shades together before application, I assume maybe it is a softer formula so more picks up on the brush.

Revlon Lip Butter | Link | £5.99

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

The Revlon Lip Butters were a really popular product with beauty bloggers last year and I can definitely see why. The formula is so creamy it melts onto the lips making them extremely hydrating and comfortable to wear. A beautiful range of shades are available and the one pictured here is a pretty shimmery baby pink named Cotton Candy. This is a similar shade to the other lip products which is definitely my 'go to' colour for Spring.

The formula of the lip butters is a hybrid between a lipstick and lip balm and some are sheerer than others so definitely give them a swatch before you buy. Cotton Candy is more on the sheer side.

As you can see, I hardly have any left and I would love to tell you it's because I've been wearing it so much I've used it all up but sadly that isn't the case. Instead, I had a bit of a disaster with the lipstick after leaving it in my handbag on the floor with the underfloor heating on......

MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette | Link |£4.00

6 Must Have Spring Products From The Highstreet

If I'm honest when I first saw MUA in Superdrug I was a little sceptical about the products because of the low price tag but I saw so many people raving about their eyeshadow palettes I decided to give one a try. I bought the Undressed palette because the shades are all very wearable and perfect to create an evening or day time look all year round. They are also very similar to those in the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette but considerably cheaper! See my comparison post here.

I was surprised by the quality of the shadows for the price and I actually find them easier to work with than some MAC ones because they seem to blend better. It's a brilliant palette for the price.

Monthly Favourites | April

April Favourites

Another month has come to an end which is crazy.. I really can't believe how quickly this year is flying by but it does mean I get to share my monthly favourites with you again! I love doing these posts because it really makes me think about the products I've been using and I love writing about them and getting your opinions too! If you have any monthly favourites please leave your links below so I can have a peak! Onto my choices for April.....

Urban Fudge Hairspray in Iced Raspberry and Vanilla | Review | Link

April Favourites: Urban Fudge Hairspray

You guys know me by now, I love a bit of pink and the Urban Fudge packaging makes use of this colour in a fun and different way. I love that it is bright and stands out on the shelf because so many brands stick to neutral or pale colours for packaging.

As you can imagine this hairspray smells incredible and again is so different to anything else on the market from what I have seen. Iced raspberry and vanilla sounds so delicious you could eat it let alone spray it on your hair and I love that it doesn't have that chemical like smell hairsprays often have.

Another feature I love about this product is the texture and staying power. I'm not a fan of hairsprays that change the texture of my hair to be crisp or sticky, instead I like it to remain soft and move so it looks more natural. I'm so glad this product offers this as well as amazing staying power as I often need my style to stay in place all day and evening.

Whether I use this hairspray to keep my curls in place or to stop flyaways I have never been disappointed.. this product is amazing!

Chanel Cream Blush in Inspiration | Review | Link

April Favourites: Chanel Cream Blush in Inspiration

I'm relatively new to using cream products on both my eyes and cheeks as previously I wasn't really drawn to them for some reason.

The latest addition to my collection is the Chanel cream blush in 'Inspiration' which is a gorgeous natural pink which is really easy to wear. It looks great teamed with light make-up for an every day look or even with heavier make-up for the evening because the shade is such a natural and subtle colour. I love the glow it gives my cheeks and thanks to the creamy, soft texture it blends beautifully onto my skin.

Compared to other cream blushes I have used in the past the staying of this Chanel one is much better. I think this might be because the formula isn't as wet as the others which maybe stops it from sliding off your face as easily. This is more of a hybrid between a cream and powder and I will definitely be buying more of them!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation | Review | Link

April Favourites: Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

This month I have put my trusty Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua to the side a little more and made more effort to use some of my other favourite foundations. The one I got back into using most recently is the Rimmel Match Perfection which is a great quality product considering the low price.

Rimmel Match Perfection provides low-medium coverage and works really well with my combination skin. The formula is soft and creamy so it blends extremely well and the staying power is really good too.

Although this foundation is heavier than my other favourites it's been nice to start using it again this month and it's great for days when I feel like I need a little more coverage than normal!

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Perfume | Review | Link

April Favourites: Juicy Couture

I really love perfumes but they don't appear on my blog every often because I really struggle to talk about them. It's easy to describe packaging to someone and how a product works for you but when it comes to smells I struggle to describe them in such a way the reader can relate. It's one of those things that may sound good in words but until you actually smell it for yourself you can't really imagine what it's going to be like but I will give it a go!

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy is a fun, youthful scent that matches the funky packaging perfectly. The notes are wild berries, mandarina, honeysuckle, gardenua, jasmine, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and praline which when combined create a beautiful sweet, feminine fragrance.. I love it!

Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss | Link

April Favourites: Urban Decay Lip Gloss

When I was younger I used to wear lip gloss all the time but then I went through a stage of reaching for my lipsticks or balms every day instead. Recently I have really got back into wearing glosses and one of my 'go to' ones during April has definitely been the Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in Obsessed

Obsessed is a really pretty pink which looks great on it's on or when combined with lipsticks to add a little extra shine to your finished make-up look. The formula is thick and creamy so it feels hydrating on the lips but it is slightly sticky. This lip gloss has an amazing peppermint smell which I really like too!

*Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Candle

April Favourites: Guerlain Candle

Last but not least is this gorgeous candle by Guerlain. I love the bright blue holder as it is different from your typical transparent glass and the bright white candle inside makes a lovely contrast.

The candle itself has a beautiful sweet floral scent which I absolutely love. It's one of those candles you want to keep picking up and sniffing when you walk past (when it's not lit of course!).

When this candle is burning the entire house is filled with the scent and it lingers until the following day.

I have searched the internet high and low for a link to this product but I can't find one! My one is from Debenhams so they definitely stock them.

You Tube: My Current Top 3 Foundations

You Tube: My Top 3 Foundations

Hello Everyone! There will be two blog posts today so watch this space! The first is about a You Tube video I filmed yesterday featuring my current top 3 favourite foundations. I wrote a blog post about this last week too which you can read here but after having a really long break from You Tube (almost a year) I've decided to give it another try.

The main reason why I stopped doing You Tube was because I didn't really have the right equipment so I found it would take ages to get everything set up and film but I wasn't happy with the end result. As I've now got a new camera which has more settings and a flip screen I decided to give it another try and it is 100% easier now!

I'm still really new to You Tube and because I'm shy I do find it really difficult compared to blogging. My videos definitely aren't the best and there is a lot of room for improvement but if you could please take a look at my latest one below and show it some love that would really help me gain some confidence! I think it's one of those things that will definitely get easier over time after lots of practice. A cheeky thumbs up or comment would be amazing!

You can view my whole You Tube channel here.

Do you have a You Tube Channel? If so, leave your link below! If not, are you thinking of starting one?

FOTD | Spring Every Day Make-Up

Every Day Spring Make-up

Hello Everyone! Just a quick post today and one was was inspired but a selfie I took this morning before filming a You Tube video. Yes, you read that correctly.. it's been 11 months since I last filmed but I've decided to take it up again seeing's as I've now got a camera with a flip screen and believe me it makes things a whole lot easier! For anyone who is interested, the video will be up within the next hour (it's uploading now) and will be appearing on my channel here. My first video's are extremely cringe worthy and really hard to film because I didn't have the right equipment or lighting but I'm pretty pleased with how today's one turned out :)

Anyway, onto today's blog post, a simple Spring every day make-up look. The picture quality isn't the best because I took it on my phone I'm afraid but hopefully it shows the make-up well enough for this short post :) The look I was going for was simple, girly, fresh and natural which I think I achieved. The products I used were:

Primer - Smashbox Photo Finish Original | Review | Link
Foundation - Rimmel Match Perfection in Ivory | Review | Link
Concealer - Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer | Review | Link
Powder - MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Natural shade Medium Plus | Review | Link

My Current Top 3 Foundations

My Current Top 3 Foundations My Current Top 3 Foundations My Current Top 3 Foundations My Current Top 3 Foundations My Current Top 3 Foundations

One of the most important items in my make-up bag is definitely foundation because it makes such a big difference to the look of your skin and overall make-up look.  Wearing foundation makes me feel more confident and comfortable and if I had to pick just one item of make-up to use forever without doubt this would be it.

I have normal/combination skin and I have always been pretty lucky when it comes to spots and blemishes so I like to use foundations which are light but buildable so I can get the perfect amount of coverage. The buildable factor is important to me because on days where my skin isn't look quite so good I like to have the option to add a little more if necessary.

When it comes to application, my favourite way to apply my foundation is using a flat kabuki brush, more specifically the Sigma F80.  This brush is incredible because it picks up the perfect amount of product, allows you to buff it into the skin really well and leaves you with a flawless finish.

Now you have a little background information about my skin type and a better idea of what I like let's move onto my current top 3 foundations:

#1 Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua | Link

Without doubt my all time favourite foundation is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. If you follow me on Twitter you probably would have seen me recommend it numerous times during the #bbloggers chats and it is something that takes pride of place in my make-up collection.  The formula is perfumed so smells slightly floral which is gorgeous but may not be to everyone's taste but definitely check it out at a Chanel counter before dismissing it.  The texture is water based so before application you must shake the container to make sure everything is mixed together and the result is a beautiful light, smooth formula which applies beautifully to the skin. Vitalumiere Aqua blends well into the skin and is very easy to work with because it doesn't dry too quickly and cling to the skin.

When teamed with a primer (such as Porefessional by Benefit) and a setting spray such as Urban Decay All Nighter this foundation lasts all day and most of the evening. I may touch it up a little in the evening occasionally but it isn't always necessary, it depends how much I have touched my face during the day.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua also contains SPF 15 which is great because I love to use products that give my skin an added layer of protection from the sun. I look for this all year round, despite living the UK where we don't often get hot, sunny days but I feel happier knowing I am using something that is protecting my skin and of course helping to prevent the aging process from happening quite so quickly!

Priced at £33.00 (which has increased a little since last year) this is the most expensive foundation out of the three but it lasts around 4-5 months depending on how much you use. I have the lightest shade which is 10 beige.

*#2 Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation | Link

My second favourite foundation is Hello Flawless by Benefit. I love the packaging of this foundation because it has a pump mechanism which makes it easy to dispense the product as the container is transparent you can see how much foundation it left. The latter is much better than the Chanel packaging because whilst that is more compact so easier to fit in your make-up bag you cannot see how much you have left.

Again, the formula of this foundation is light, creamy and very blendable. The texture is smooth and doesn't cling to the skin so it is easy to apply at your own pace. The formula also doesn't seem to have much of a fragrance so would appeal to people who don't like perfumed products. As with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, the finish is flawless and gives my skin a nice healthy glow.

Priced at £26.50 this foundation may still be a little on the pricey side but it's a really lovely product which contains SPF 25. I find it doesn't last as long as the Chanel one so although it is cheaper that is something to bare in mind. The colour I have is Ivory, I'm Pure For Sure which is for pale pink toned skin. They also have the equivalent for yellow tones.

#3 Rimmel Match Perfection | Link

Last but by no means least is the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation. I regulary use this foundation in between the other two so they last a little longer. At one stageI was using Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua every day so as you can imagine I was going through it pretty quickly. As it's so expensive I wanted to find an alternative and that is definitely Match Perfection.

This foundation isn't as light as the previous two but isn't heavy or cakey.  It glides onto the skin beautifully and is very buildable and easy to apply. Again, the finish is flawless and gives my skin a healthy glow which I love because I'm not as keen on matte finishes.

Priced at £6.99 Rimmel Match Perfection is a much cheaper option than the others and is definitely my favourite drug store foundation. I have shade 100 Ivory which is the second palest and this lovely foundation also contains SPF 18 which is a great added bonus for the price.

What do you think of my foundation picks? Which is your favourite?

Battle of the Drugstore Mascara's Round 1

Drugstore Mascara's Drugstore Mascara's

Mascara is one of the beauty products I like to mix up so I'm not particularly loyal to one brand or whether they are high end or drugstore. In fact, if anything I lean more towards drugstore mascara's because I think they are equally as good as high end and they are obviously much cheaper.

Today's post is the beginning of my 'Battle of the Mascara's' mini series where I will compare a variety of mascara's which are both drugstore and high end. You may also see more in depth reviews of each included on on my blog which will have more pictures so if you're interested finding out more about a particular one keep an out out for those. I haven't included all pictures here because this post is already pretty picture heavy!

Onto the mascara's.....

17 Va Va Voom / £6.29 / Link
Drugstore Mascara's

When I bought Va Va Voom by 17 I was looking for a cheap drug store mascara that wasn't jet black as I wanted a less defined eye to wear to work sometimes.  At the time I was shopping in a small Boots at a train station so there wasn't a huge variety of brands on offer but the one that caught my eye was 17 which I hadn't thought about buying a product from since my early-mid teens.

If I'm honest, I didn't think I'd want to re-purchase this mascara again but it's actually really good and has taught me not to dismiss a brand just because I don't necessarily fit the market they are targeting.

Va Va Voom mascara is a gorgeous deep brown which looks lovely with brown eye liner for a simple every day look. The brush is chunky which is my favourite type as it opens up the lashes nicely and applies the product evenly across them all without clumping. This mascara makes my lashes well defined and voluminous and now it has run out I actually really miss using it.

Maybelline The Falsies / £7.99 / Link
Drugstore Mascara's

Since buying The Falsies I've had a love/hate relationship with it. At the time of my purchase there was a lot of hype around this mascara so I had very high hypes but when I started using it I found I got mixed results each time which was pretty frustrating.  Sometimes my lashes would look amazing with extra length and volume added but other times they would be a clumpy mess which more often or not I didn't have time to rectify before going out.

You can imagine I was pretty disappointed with this product so after a couple of weeks of perseverance it got put into one of my Muji drawers to be forgotten about until the last couple of months. I'm not sure what made me start using The Falsies again but this time I decided to scrape a little of the excess product off before applying the formula to my lashes and that technique works a treat.  I can now happily use this mascara every day and rely on consistent and beautiful results. I would even go as far as saying this is probably my favourite Drugstore mascara at the moment.

The wand for The Falsies is thin, curved and bendy so it works really well with the lashes and it's easy to apply the mascara to the corner lashes as well as the bottom as the wand isn't chunky.

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast / £10.00 / Link
Drugstore Mascara's

Next is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara which I first tried when it came in one of the huge Gift Sets they create for Christmas. The formula is black but not very, very dark so it looks great to use during the day and equally as well for evening looks unless you like a jet black finish.

The wand for Thick and Fast again is chunky which I really like because it coats the lashes well without causing any clumping but it isn't so large that you can't get to the corner or bottom lashes.  The bristles are spaced wide apart which at first I thought may mean the lashes aren't spread out well but this isn't the case at all.

As always, Soap and Glory have done really well with this product.  I'm yet to find one that isn't a high quality and does what it claims on the package.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless / £7.99 / Link
Drugstore Mascara's

The last mascara I will be talking about today is the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless which I bought on a bit of a whim during a beauty haul last year.  It's pretty rare for me to buy any beauty products without having read some reviews on them and in this instance unfortunately my spontaneity didn't pay off as sadly I'm not blown away by this mascara. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but I just don't think it compares to the others features in this post or other I have tried.

Lash Accelerator Endless has a thin plastic wand which aren't my favourite as I find they have a higher tendency to clump and I just don't enjoy using them. Unfortunately, I do find this formula can clump a little on application if there is too much on the brush but if you scrape it off beforehand this rarely happens. It applies nicely to all of my lashes including those that are harder to reach and my eyes do look more defined but not as much so as the others mascara's. I also find this product stays wet for much longer so I end up getting is on my face and throughout the day occasionally it does rub off a little.

I still have some of this mascara left and I will definitely finish using it but I do find it to be pretty average so I wouldn't buy it again.

What do you think of this post?

A couple of weeks ago I featured my recently re-discovered products but as there were so many I wanted to spread them over two posts.  You can read the products I included in my first one here.  I love re-discovering products because it feels like you're using something brand new and you are also reminded what you loved about the products in the first place.  Here are the products I have re-discovered over the past couple of months are below:

Lush Mint Lip Scrub // Link

The cold weather has been playing havoc with my lips so they have been a little drier than normal. To help combat this, over the past few weeks I have been using my Lush Lip Scrub in Mint which is brilliant. After using this product my lips are left feeling soft and smooth plus it tastes delicious which is an added bonus!

Rimmel Apocalips // Link

Last year when Rimmel Apocalips hit the shelves there was a huge amount of hype surrounding them. I was one of those people as I love most of the colours in the range as well as the thick pigmented formula and fresh watermelon scent.  When going through my Muji drawers a couple of weekends ago I spotted them and was reminded how lovely they are. The colours I have here are Nova, Celestial and Apocoliptic

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer // Link

The Nivea Hydration primer is the first I have used combined with a moisturiser.  I re-discovered this product when my favourite primer, Porefessional by Benefit ran out and I was on the hunt for the last bit of my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Instead I came across this one and I've enjoyed using it on and off. I will probably use it every now and then until I finish it but I wouldn't re-purchase it because I do prefer using my primer and moisturiser separately. It is a great no fuss quick to use product, though.

MAC Soft and Gentle // Link

I re-discovered Soft and Gentle after seeing it spring up on a lot of blog posts recently.  It reminded me how beautiful it is and I have used it every day over the past four weeks or so.  It gives my cheeks a beautiful shimmer that looks like a natural glow rather than too in your face and I love it.

Have you tried any of these products?
