Review | The World's Most Powerful Iron | PerfectCare Elite SteamGenerator Iron

Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron

Good Morning Beauties! Today's blog post is about a product I am very excited to share with you and is a must have for all those domestic Gods and Goddesses out there.

The new *PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron is said to be Philips best and most efficient steam generator iron yet and I must agree. The large solid base means it is stable and easy to set aside as a placeholder to hold the iron when you need a break from ironing. I find this particularly useful as the metal plate on our ironing board isn't particularly big and therefore more often or not an iron does not fit which makes things a bit tricky when you need to place it down. Alternatively, this iron has such advanced technology (mentioned below in more detail) you can actually comfortable leave the soleplate of this iron directly on your ironing board without causing burning which is brilliant.

When it comes to using this iron, it couldn't be more simple as not only does it come with easy instructions to follow but it is pretty intuitive though so it is quick to get started straight away. The iron itself is lightweight meaning it puts less strain on your wrist and arm and the size of the handle is perfect to grip it firmly but comfortably. Additionally, it has a safety auto off function which is a must have to me. I'm a worrier and always one of those people that will worry endlessly about leaving an appliance on whether it be the iron or my hair straigheners!

I have tried using this iron on a variety of different materials as seen in the pictures above (e.g denim, cotton, silk cashmere etc) and whatever it's up against this iron simply glides over the material removing creases effortlessly.  I also love that you don't have to worry about temperature control as this iron does all that for you. The Advanced Smart Control Processor precisely controls the soleplate providing one perfect temperature setting for all frabrics, Phillips call this OptimalTEMP technology. This is amazing technology and completely removes any anxiety people have about what setting they should use to get perfect results and prevent burning fabrics. It is also easy to tell when the iron is ready for use as the light on top changes from flashing to solid light, it takes just two minutes so is perfect for those in a rush.

The PerfectCare Elite also allows for vertical steaming which is a great added bonus and would have been extremely useful for getting out those last minute creases from all our dresses on my wedding day... if  only I had this then!

This Philips iron also comes with a variety of different settings which allows you to get the most out of your ironing whether it be 'Eco Friendly' if you are particularly conscious about our impact on the environment or 'Turbo' mode for fast ironing. It also holds a large amount of water, 1.8l to be precise so you don't have to spend too much time re-filing although this is very straightforward to do.

Don't forget to descale your iron regularly to prolong it's life, something which is super easy to do with this one thanks to the alert the iron gives you when it time for a good clean. You simply need to wait for your iron to cool and remove the water and limescale in a cup after removing the 'De-Calc' knob.

I really can't fault this product in any way and it is definitely the best iron I have ever used, even hubby is happy to get stuck in and do his share with this! It's easy to use, has great results, advanced technical and the design looks modern and sleek.

You can purchase the Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron from a variety of places including John Lewis for £319.95 or directly from Philips for £320

Fashion | Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Black Leather Cross Body Bag

Michael Kors Bag
Michael Kors Bag
Michael Kors Bag
Michael Kors Bag

My favourite places to shop in London are the large department stores such as Harvey Nichols. There is something about them which makes me feel relaxed and content but I can never quite put my finger on what it is. Maybe the open spaces, gorgeous fragrances that fill the air or the huge selection of products are available are the reason or maybe the friendly staff, elegant displays and gorgeous brands. Either way it's a place I have always enjoyed going to and I don't think that will be changing any time soon!

Harvey Nichols stocks one of my all time favourite accessory brands and that is Michael Kors. The reason why I love this brand is that the quality of the products is incredible, the designs beautiful and the price reasonable. In fact when I'm looking for a new handbag without fail Michael Kors is the first place I look at.

The latest Michael Kors handbag I have added to my collection is the *Jet Set Travel Black Leather Cross Body Bag. The size of this bag is great to use during the day to hold essentials or the evening as it's design and colour mean it is very versatile. I have used it in the evening teamed with a blue and white polka dot dress, black tights, heels and a black cardigan but also with jeans and a pretty floral top during the day. Although it's small in size (6x5x2) this bag also holds a lot more than you think so I can easily get all my essentials in it plus a few extra's too. I love the sturdy shape and textured saffiano leather.

The cross body bag is jet black with pretty gold detailing on the logo, zip and straps which really pop. I just love this combination at the moment and I keep reaching for it whether it be accessories, dresses or even makeup brushes! Going back to the design, the straps are thin and delicate so it compliments outfits nicely without being overpowering and I love the same textured material which matches the main bag itself. Hidden inside is an internal slip pocket as well as four cards slots too which is brilliant because you can use them to  store items you want to access quickly.

The Jet Set Travel Michael Kors bag finishes off outfits really nicely and is amazing quality. I can definitely see me using it a lot all throughout the year and a few friends have already commented on how nice it is. As well as black it is available in other colours too so if you want something a little more jazzy then there is something for everyone.

If you want to purchase this gorgeous Michael Kors bag it it available in store or online at Harvey Nichols for £110.00.

Fashion | My Accessory Wish List

Accessory Wish List

It's no secret I'm addicted to accessories, particularly shoes and handbags so there's always some of these I have my eye on. I wanted to share my current wish list with you which includes a gorgeous selection of products from House of Fraser, New Look and Accessorize. Let me know your favourite below!

The first shoes I am loving are the stunning Carvela Gosh High Heel Sandals. These are very elegant due to the pretty delicate straps which cover the front of the foot as well as the top at a unique slant. These shoes are perfect for adding subtle bling to an outfit and would go with a multitude of different outfits as they are gold.  At 4.7 inches they may not be for everyone but I'm definitely in love.

The second pair of shoes I've got my eye one funnily enough are also gold (I seem to be drawn to the colour at the moment) but look completely different. The Miss KG Gertrude Sandals are a lot more detailed as they have an intricate criss-cross design with the straps that go over the foot. This design really makes a change to your average strappy shoe and it would look lovely with dresses, skirts and jeans. The heel of these shoes are 4 inches.

Next is a gorgeous black bag by Ted Baker which I was drawn to firstly because of the bow design. I've seen this on lots of products by this brand and I really like it because it's pretty and feminine. I'm also a fan of the high gloss jet black finish of this bag because it's totally different to any other bag in my collection and it's a good size so I could fit plenty of my possessions in it.. probably far too many than I should be carrying around!

Michael Kors is definitely one of my favourite handbag designers and this gorgeous tote has caught my eye.  Surprisingly I haven't got any navy handbags in my collection and when I spotted this one I thought it was a refreshing change to the many black and brown variations I have. The tote is also such a versatile, classic shape it is something that can easily be used for years without becoming outdated.

The last pair of shoes on my wish list are the Dune Celia Leather Peeptoe Wedge Court Shoes which are perfect for the Spring and Summer. The combination of bubblegum pink with the cork wedge works really well and these would look great with white jeans or pretty Summer dresses. I think these may be my favourite item on my wish list!

The clutch bag on my wish list is the L.K Bennett Leonie Asymmeric Clutch bag which is simply adorable. I really like the combination of different colours and I think it would look really great when teamed with a simple little black dress and heels. As well as the polka dot design the opening flap of this bag is really unique as it is at a slant and makes this product more fun and interesting.

As we are approaching Spring and Summer I have had my eye on sandals and this pair from New Look are very pretty. They are Gold Gem Embellished T-Bar sandals which have lots of detailing and are just perfect to wear on holiday, casually at home or dress add a little bling to an outfit. I'd love to get these for my honeymoon.

Being a big fan of pink, you won't be surprised to see a pink bag on my accessory wish list. This gorgeous bubble gum pink Mini Isabella Winged Tote by Accessorize is such a gorgeous shade it would really make an outfit pop. I could imagine teaming it with white jeans and a white or floral top plus the T-Bar sandals above, it would look lovely.  The finish of this bag is leather look with metallic details and detachable card holder.

Fashion | Prom Dress Predictions

New Look Prom Predictions

When I was at school one of the most exciting times of the year was prom and we all spent a huge amount of time discussing our dresses, accessories and makeup plus of course shopping for them. I've got a lot of special memories from the proms I went to it's definitely something which is becoming more and more popular.

Prom dresses have changed a lot over the decades and I've found it really interesting to look back and see what they were like. Fashion's always come back sooner or later. In 1956 it was all about the traditional long dress with plenty of embellishments, in 1970 the focus was on even longer dresses with possibly a train but little or no embellishments such as sequins and the fabrics were often floral or pastel shades. In the 1980's the main trend were taffeta dresses with shoulder pads and ruffles featuring neon colours. These dresses couldn't have been more different the previous two decades. Nowadays, dresses vary in shape and colour whether they be fish tail, figure hugging or feature beautiful empire waists. Colours range from black to vibrant.

The picture above shows what my prom predictions are for 2015. I think 2015 will see dresses with some detailing such as sequins, beading and or lace but in a short length which is above the knee. Equally I think we will see more simple dresses where the detailing will be with the fabric and the way it folds/hangs rather than extra embellishments. I think loose fitting dresses will be more popular than those that are figure hugging and classic black being the most popular, as well as metallics.

Whether you're looking for a prom dress, planning your accessories or finding a date I hope you have a lovely time! Let me know what your 2015 prom predictions are below.

You can check out more dresses on the New Look website.

Fashion | Lauren Pearl Carmen Bikini Review

Lauren Pearl Bikini Lauren Pearl Bikini Lauren Pearl Bikini

Instead of sitting here blogging I should actually be sunning myself in a tropical climate sipping cocktails but that didn't quite go to plan. After a five week wait I'm still in the passport queue and at the moment there's no sign of it appearing any time soon. Thankfully I hadn't booked any flights or a hotel, only booked the time off work so I was able to easily cancel that and will re-arrange it at some point later in the year. It's really disappointing because I was looking forward to a break but I guess I've still got that to look forward to.

Anyway, I started off this blog post with the above blurb about my vacation because it features a must have holiday item....a bikini. I'll admit it now, I've got a slight addiction to bikini's and when I go away for a week I don't take one or two like most people.. I will have at least one for every day or more oops! There are loads of places on the highstreet or online to buy swimwear and the most recent  brand I have come across is Lauren Pearl which sell both swimwear and lingerie.

Lauren Pearl is a luxury online brand that aims to cater for a wide range of women and even offer a bespoke fitting service.  They personally handpick all products to ensure quality, comfort and style in all their lingerie and swimwear and feature well known brands such as Freya, Huit, Panache and Elomi.

The bikini featured in today's blog post is by Panache and is called *Carmen. It is a really pretty two piece that sports a tropical multi-coloured design which features polka dots, leaves and pineapples. The bikini bottoms have a pretty rouched, patterned, yellow band on the sides that is very flattering and works really well to break up the main print.  The top has an underwire so gives extra shape and support and the clip at the back makes this bikini really easy to fasten. The straps also sport the same yellow pattern as the bottoms so it ties the whole look together perfectly.

I really love this bikini.  The design is bright and Summery so it is perfect to wear on the beach and looks really lovely with a tan. The material is soft, the quality cannot be faulted and the fit of this bikini is great and very comfortable to wear.

I'm so glad blogging has introduced me to this gorgeous new brand. The next bikini I have my eye on is definitely the Exotic one on the website as it's a beautiful bright floral print.. perfect for Summer and Lily as it's a simple black bikini that would look gorgeous with a tan.

If you're interested in purchasing a bikini from Lauren Pearl check out their website (http://lauren-pearl.com/) They have a variety of swimwear on offer at reasonable prices.

Fashion | Mulberry Bayswater in Taupe

Mulberry Taupe Bayswater Bag Mulberry Taupe Bayswater Bag Mulberry Taupe Bayswater Bag Mulberry Taupe Bayswater Bag

Hello Everyone, sorry for the picture heavy post but as this is such a beautiful bag I wanted to take lots of photo's so I could do it justice. Before I speak about it in more detail, though I want to just add a little disclaimer. I'm by no means trying to show off by talking about this bag, I appreciate that Mulberry is an expensive brand but as you can imagine I'm very excited about it as I've been wanting one for the past two years so I wanted to blog about it.

So, as I mentioned, for the past couple of years I have had my eye on one of the Bayswater Mulberry collection of bags. As they are expensive it is something I wanted to consider very carefully and to be honest I've spent all that time drooling over them online or in stores and then convincing myself it's too much money to spend on a handbag. Obviously that all changed recently, though.

Originally I wanted to get the black Bayswater as I wanted a bag I would use a lot but I got a stunning black Radley one from my parents for my Birthday back in November and I didn't want to replace it. Instead, I thought about getting the chocolate brown Mulberry as I don't actually have a 'nice' brown bag in my collection so this would be perfect, however, when I headed down to Mulberry on the day of their sale instead the bag I chose to get is the taupe. This was definitely the best choice I could make even over the black because it literally goes with everything yet is more unique. I love that it can be teamed with any outfit I like, be used during the day or evening and any time of the year too so this really is a versatile shade.

The bag itself doesn't have any pockets on the outside but does have the classic Mulberry flap under the gold clasp which when opened reveals the beautiful soft suede lining which makes this handbag feel even more luxurious. This lining matches the outta leather perfectly because they is equally as smooth and soft and it looks and feels just as expensive as it is.

Hidden inside the bag are a couple of small compartments where you can store small items so they don't get lost and one of these has a zip fastener for extra security. There's also the Mulberry tag and expandable straps so you can make the bag wider if you like although I doubt I will ever use these as I like the shape as it is.

It's the detailing of this bag that really says it all and the closer you look the more you begin to see. For example, the pretty stitching on the outta edge of the bag, the leather moulded perfectly into the shape not to mention the golden studs on the base and finishes. The quality of this handbag cannot be faulted. It is incredible and you can see why it has the high price tag.

After waiting two long years to buy this bag I'm not going to jump to use it at every opportunity.  Instead I'm going to use it only for special occasions to start with so it will last as long as possible and maybe the odd outing in between. In a year or so's time I may use it more but let's see how things go. I think it's going to be hard to resist taking it everywhere I go, though!

Monthly Round Up | Favourite May Posts

May Post Round Up

It's the end of another month and that means it's time for a monthly round up post! It's been an exciting month so it has been tricky to choose just 8 favourite blog posts and I was sad to leave out some of my other favourites such as the Smash Box Event and La Roche Posay but I'm happy with my selection so here goes.....

I recently noticed that Sleek hasn't appeared on my blog very often and I wanted to change that because it is a really good, high quality, affordable highstreet brand.

This month saw not one but two blog posts, one being a review of the Sleek Sparkle 2 palette and the other being a review of my Sleek Blush Collection.

#2 Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Perfume Review | Link

I love perfume and the most recent addition to my collection was Moment de Bonheur by Yves Rocher. This is a wonderful scent to wear during the day which was much needed because almost all of the other fragrances I have are more suitable for the evening.

This unusual scent is bright green so screams Spring and Summer. It is also the first product I have used by Yves Rocher so it was great to give it a try and share my thoughts with you guys.

#3 Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel Review | Link

I'm a big fan of Lush so of course one their products had to appear on my blog in the past month and this time it was Happy Hippy. This is a refreshing shower gel which is wonderful to use in the morning to brighten you up and the smell is fresh, crisp and clean.

#4 6 Must Have Spring Beauty Products from the Highstreet | Link

Last month I did a post about my 6 Must Have High End Spring Beauty Products so it was only right I also included my favourites from the Highstreet too.

I love each and every one of these products and it was great to share them with you all.

#5 Tres Semme Oil Elixir Review | Link

I love Tres Semme products and the most recent one to be added to my collection is the Oil Elixir. The product is very much like Moroccan Oil but considerably cheaper so it is a brilliant alternative if you don't want to spend so much.

Having long hair, I love to use treatments on it so this has been a great product to use and incorporate into my routine. Hair care is probably the regime I mix up the most because my hair adapts well to trying new things but I always go back to my favourites.

#6 Top 10 Revision Hints and Tips | Link

I remember revising hard for my exams year after year during April, May and June so I really feel for those of you who are in the middle of studying. I'm glad all that is behind me now I'm in the big world of work but I learnt a lot during school and university so I wanted to share my experience and tips with you all.

This month got me thinking about my holiday in July so I thought what better post to have than a fashion holidays essentials one? I haven't actually booked my holiday yet as I want to do something last minute but I love the sun, sea and sand so it will definitely be something along those lines.

This was a really fun post to put together because there are so many nice things in the shops at the moment and I definitely plan on buying some of these items (if not all of them oops) soon in preparation for my own holiday.

I tried to think a little outside the box with this one to keep the post interesting so it isn't a full list of essentials but definitely some of them!

#8 The Do's and Don'ts of Blogging | Link

I love writing posts about blogging and this month saw one about the Do's and Don'ts of blogging. This proved popular and was really enjoyable to write and I hope it helped some of you!

If there are any other blogging type posts you want to see leave a comment below and I will include them. It could be tips, advice, help, tutorials.. anything you like.

Fashion | Holiday Essentials

Holiday Essentials

It's coming up to that time of the year when everyone starts to think about going on holiday or the weather starting to improve. In the UK we had a lovely few days last week where it was so warm I was even able to do some sun bathing but sadly it didn't last very long and the rain has returned.

This hasn't stopped me from thinking about my holiday in July, though so this post is all about fashion holiday essentials. It isn't a complete list but definitely a good starting point and a challenge because there are so many lovely things in the shops at the moment!

River Island Light Wash Ripped Denim shorts | £25.00

Shorts are brilliant to wear on holiday because they can be worn casually during the day when you are out and about, on the beach over your bikini or blinged up in the evening.  I love denim shorts because they are the most versatile and these ones at River Island are super cute.

New Look Green Tropical Print Crepe Kimono | £19.00

I'm loving kimono's at the moment which is great because they seem to be popping up in lots of shops. They look gorgeous with a simple outfit with solid colour if they have a heavy print and instantly transform the outfit into something more interesting. I love those with a floral print and spotted this one in New Look a few days ago.. I really wish I'd bought it now!

Topshop Slim Tailored Blazer | £48.00

I'm loving blazers at the moment too because they are another staple piece which can instantly transform an outfit. They add colour and structure and finish off an outfit really well. I find them flattering too because they pinch you in at the waist and make it looks like you've put a lot more effort into your outfit than you actually have! This lemon coloured one at Topshop is such a pretty summery colour and would be perfect for a day or evening look. On holiday I'm thinking more evening because it would be too hot to wear a blazer during the day but of course that depends on where you go.

New Look Pink Roll Sleeve Plain T-Shirt | £4.99

A must have fashion holiday essential are simple t-shirts and vest tops. They can be teamed with shorts, trousers or skirts or even your bikini to stop you from burning. I love the colour of this pink one from New Look but I would take a selection of these on holiday in different colours.

Accessorize Woven Coachella Flip Flops | £15.00

If you're going on a beach holiday you definitely need to have flip flops to protect your feet from the hot sand. They are also perfect to wear around the pool or during the day when walking about because when it's hot I hate to have my feet closed in!

Accessorize Sienna Top Kaftan Top | £39.00

When chilling by the pool or on the beach a must have if a kaftan top which is quick and simple to throw over your bikini. This one at accessorize looks very pretty on and will turn your sun bathing attire into something suitable to walk around in when you go and grab a bite to eat.

Boohoo Myrtle Mould Push Up Bikini | £16.00

I've mentioned sun bathing a few times in this post (I can't get enough of it when I'm on holiday) and I have a slight addition to bikini's. When I go on holiday for a week I won't take one or two with me.. it's more like 7-8 oops and I'm loving this bright red one at Boo Hoo! It would look really great with a golden brown tan.

Kurt Geiger Carvela Klix Wedges | £75.00

I love to wear heels on holiday, especially in the evening and these nude pink ones from Kurt Geiger are great. I have these in another colour and wore them a lot last summer because they are very comfortable and easy to wear!

Miss Selfridge Petites Coral Cutout Dress | £35.00

Last but not least is this pretty coral dress by Miss Selfridge. I love coral shades at the moment and this piece would look lovely during the day or evening. The bright colour shouts Summer and I really like the style of it. I would definitely wear this out in the evening to dinner and drinks.

There are obviously a lot more fashion pieces you need to take on holiday with you but I hope you enjoyed looking at my mini list here. I love every one of these pieces and would love to add them into my collection for July!

My Favourite High Street Shops

Favourite shops

Last week I featured a blog post about my favourite online beauty websites so it feels right to also include a post about my favourite places to shop on the High Street.  I tend to buy a lot more by shopping in store rather online so this post will feature a selection of my favourite beauty, fashion and home picks!

New Look // Link

I remember shopping at New Look a lot in my early teens but for some reason stopped for a good number of years after that.  I started shopping there in the past few years and I'm absolutely loving it.  I think New Look are really on top of their game and I find I buy products there for day, night and work.  Their prices are also very reasonable which makes them appeal even more.

Jane Norman // Link

This has been a shop I have loved since I was a teen because I find their clothes a little different to what other stores on the high street have to offer.  Over the years if I'm honest, I've noticed the price has crept up but the quality crept down so I'm finding I'm shopping less in there but I love their style and if I'm ever struggling for an outfit whether it be for day or night I know I will get it here!

Debenhams // Link

Debenhams is a great department store that sells a multitude of products ranging from beauty to fashion and home. I particularly love looking around the beauty section and always get my eyebrows threaded here. The homeware is also a favourite!

Selfridges // Link

The Selfridges beauty haul is amazing whether you or looking to buy something in particular or just browsing.  It would be amazing to be able to wonder around there without all the crowds and really take in the beauty of the store.  The other departments are also just as great so it is very easy to spend many hours in here!

Harrods // Link

Harrods holds special memories for me because I have been going there with my parents my entire life.  I love how exclusive and special it feels and it's been interesting to see how it has changed over the years.  It offers a huge amount of products and even though I've been going there forever the store is so huge I still get lost almost every time (my sense of direction is really bad).

Boots // Link

Being a beauty blogger this one is a pretty obvious pick! I like the layout of the product displays in Boots and the staff are always helpful.  I love that there is always one near by and that they have such a large product range that is often on special offers too.

Superdrug // Link

Superdrug is another obvious pick but I only tend to go in there to buy products that aren't available in Boots because I prefer it.  I love that they stock Essie, Sleek and MUA in particular. There is often a bargain to be had in Superdrug which makes it very tempting to buy products from here!

Primark // Link

I'm always amazed at how low the prices are at Primark and am suprised I didn't start shopping in their sooner.  This is definitely the place to go if you want to pick up a bargain and the latest trends!

Pandora // Link

Pandora sells beautiful jewellery and I often find myself in there admiring it.  As it is on the pricey side I don't regularly buy items from there but I am always adding more to my wish list and enjoying the new collections that come out.  The Valentines one this year looks beautiful! Pandora display their products perfectly and the shops is light and airy.  I love it.

Dorothy Perkins // Link

Although Dorothy Perkins is a little more expensive than some other clothing stores on the high street I often buy things for work in there.  The quality is great as well as the fit and I love that I can easily achieve a smart casual look with very little effort.

Laura Ashley // Link

Laura Ashley is a great store for homeware and I love taking a peak at all the lovely things they have in there.  It's one of those stores where I could easily spend a lot of money because they are all so pretty so it's lucky they often have big sales!

House of Fraser  // Link

There seems to be a theme here with the department stores but I really love them because they offer so much. House of Fraser is probably the one I shop in least often but there isn't a particular reason for that.  They do however, have amazing shoe sales where I have picked up some great bargains!

Marks and Spencer // Link

If you had said to me 10 years ago M&S would be appearing in this post I would never have believed it.  I remember going here with mum and dad as a child and finding it terribly boring but now I'm older I really appreciate the quality of their products and absolutely love their home department.

This post has become much bigger than I expected because as I wrote it I kept thinking of more and more stores to mention! This is by no means all of them but it gives you an insight into my little world of shopping.
