Monthly Round Up | Favourite May Posts

May Post Round Up

It's the end of another month and that means it's time for a monthly round up post! It's been an exciting month so it has been tricky to choose just 8 favourite blog posts and I was sad to leave out some of my other favourites such as the Smash Box Event and La Roche Posay but I'm happy with my selection so here goes.....

I recently noticed that Sleek hasn't appeared on my blog very often and I wanted to change that because it is a really good, high quality, affordable highstreet brand.

This month saw not one but two blog posts, one being a review of the Sleek Sparkle 2 palette and the other being a review of my Sleek Blush Collection.

#2 Yves Rocher Moment de Bonheur Perfume Review | Link

I love perfume and the most recent addition to my collection was Moment de Bonheur by Yves Rocher. This is a wonderful scent to wear during the day which was much needed because almost all of the other fragrances I have are more suitable for the evening.

This unusual scent is bright green so screams Spring and Summer. It is also the first product I have used by Yves Rocher so it was great to give it a try and share my thoughts with you guys.

#3 Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel Review | Link

I'm a big fan of Lush so of course one their products had to appear on my blog in the past month and this time it was Happy Hippy. This is a refreshing shower gel which is wonderful to use in the morning to brighten you up and the smell is fresh, crisp and clean.

#4 6 Must Have Spring Beauty Products from the Highstreet | Link

Last month I did a post about my 6 Must Have High End Spring Beauty Products so it was only right I also included my favourites from the Highstreet too.

I love each and every one of these products and it was great to share them with you all.

#5 Tres Semme Oil Elixir Review | Link

I love Tres Semme products and the most recent one to be added to my collection is the Oil Elixir. The product is very much like Moroccan Oil but considerably cheaper so it is a brilliant alternative if you don't want to spend so much.

Having long hair, I love to use treatments on it so this has been a great product to use and incorporate into my routine. Hair care is probably the regime I mix up the most because my hair adapts well to trying new things but I always go back to my favourites.

#6 Top 10 Revision Hints and Tips | Link

I remember revising hard for my exams year after year during April, May and June so I really feel for those of you who are in the middle of studying. I'm glad all that is behind me now I'm in the big world of work but I learnt a lot during school and university so I wanted to share my experience and tips with you all.

This month got me thinking about my holiday in July so I thought what better post to have than a fashion holidays essentials one? I haven't actually booked my holiday yet as I want to do something last minute but I love the sun, sea and sand so it will definitely be something along those lines.

This was a really fun post to put together because there are so many nice things in the shops at the moment and I definitely plan on buying some of these items (if not all of them oops) soon in preparation for my own holiday.

I tried to think a little outside the box with this one to keep the post interesting so it isn't a full list of essentials but definitely some of them!

#8 The Do's and Don'ts of Blogging | Link

I love writing posts about blogging and this month saw one about the Do's and Don'ts of blogging. This proved popular and was really enjoyable to write and I hope it helped some of you!

If there are any other blogging type posts you want to see leave a comment below and I will include them. It could be tips, advice, help, tutorials.. anything you like.

Review | TRESemme Oil Exlir

Tres Semme Oil Elixir Tres Semme Oil Elixir

Hello Beauties! I hope you're all well and enjoyed the bank holiday weekend if you're in the UK. Mine was a little up and down because on Friday after a visit to the doctors I was diagnosed with Post Viral Bronchial Spasms due to the bad coughing and chest pains I was experiencing. I've been given an inhaler which is helping but I still find it hard to breathe at times which is really horrible!  I still got to spend some time with my family and blogging which was really nice but missed out on a night out with friends because sadly I wasn't up to it.

Anyways, enough about my aliments and onto today's post....

I've been a fan of hair oils for a while because they feel like such a nourishing and luxurious product. I've tried a variety over the years and they really aid with keeping my long hair looking healthy which is great because I don't get it cut as often as I should (I hate losing the length) and I also use styling tools on my hair most days so my poor hair is subjected to heat on a regular basis.

A recent addition to my hair care collection  is the *TRESemme Oil Elixir which sounds like a gorgeous product just from the name let alone anything else.  The packaging is sleek and simple which shows of the product to the full and the pretty gold liquid looks dreamy through the transparent casing.

TRESemme Oil Elixir is packed full of nourishing ingredients for the hair including the well known Macadamia Oil and Babussu oil which unlike what many people think do not leave your hair feeling greasy.  Instead it is the perfect treat to keep your hair looking good.

The texture of this oil is light but not greasy or sticky and it is suitable for all hair types. Even though I have long hair I find applying just one pump works perfectly and I do this on both wet and dry hair starting half way down and concentrating mostly on the tips. I never apply hair oils to my roots.

After using this beautiful Elixir my hair is left feeling soft and it has a gorgeous shine. My hair looks healthier and the texture looks smooth but not flat. It is a really great product to use as a hair treatment but also to combat any frizz or flyaways and define curls.

In the past I have always sworn by my Moroccan Oil but the TRESemme Oil Elixir is a really great alternative to use. I find it works just as well and it is considerably cheaper priced at £9.99 in Boots. Once again TRESemme hasn't let me down.. this product is brilliant!

What do you think of the TRESemme Oil Elixir?

TRESEMME HEAT DEFENCE REVIEW

Before I start today's post I just want to quickly share my evening with you. Last night I was lucky enough to be invited to an event with Haagan Daz in London where we learnt about using ice-cream as edible art and we even got the opportunity to make our own Ice cream Easter Egg! I will be writing up a blog post about the event including pictures so I won't give away too much now.. but it was Amazing!!

Onto today's post which is all about hair care....My hair is often subjected to heat on a regular basis so it is really important I use a good heat protector on it. For years I have been very loyal to the VO5 Heat Defense Spray which works perfectly with my hair and I love the fine formulation but when my last bottle ran out I fancied a change so was on the hunt for a new product to try. The heat protector I reached for is the TRESemme Heat Defence spray which is in a travel size bottle (I thought it was best to start off small in case I didn't like it).

The TRESemme Heat Defence Spray is said to provide heat protection up to 230 C as well as seal in shine which sounds perfect. I don't usually use heat at such a high temperature as this but it's great it offers this much protection as styling tools seem to be heating to higher and higher temperatures these days.

One of the key things I look for in any products I apply to my hair is that they do not leave any kind of residue. I hate it when you're left with that heavy, sticky feeling and the texture is crisp instead of being light and bouncy.  Being a fan of TRESemme, I had high hopes for this product and I wasn't left disappointed. The dispenser allows you to spray the product evenly all over the hair and I have found the formula to be exactly what I look for. The packaging says to use the product on damp hair which I do before blow drying it but I also apply it once my hair is dry so I am providing my hair with an extra layer of protection before using styling tools such as straighteners or a curling wand.

Overall I've been really impressed with this product and I'm glad I've given it a try. I will always go back to my VO5 Heat Defence Spray as it is definitely my 'holy grail' product but I would definitely re-purchase the TRESemme equivalent. If you want to give it a try you can buy it from Boots for £5.99 (full size version).

What is your favourite heat protector?
