Lush Lots of Love Valentines Gift Box // First Impressions

Lush Lots of Love Gift Box
Lush Lots of Love Gift Box
Lush Lots of Love Gift Box

Hello Everyone!  In my blog post on Saturday (read it here) I mentioned I attended a Lush event to celebrate the launch of their Valentines products and Danger! Cosmetics To Go book.  One of the amazing gifts they gave us was the *Lots of Love Gift box.  I've often looked at the sets in Lush and I wasn't entirely sure of what was inside so needless to say I was very excited to open it.

Inside the Lush Lots of Love gift box there are five products from the Limited edition Valentines range, all of which are very different from each other so you can get a real taster for what products Lush offer.  I love the idea of these kits because they can open you up to products you wouldn't have thought of trying and of course they make a beautiful gift.

The Lots of Love Gift box is beautifully packaged in a bright purple box covered in pink and yellow love hearts and a bright neon bow.  This packaging my not appeal to everyone due to its bold nature but I actually really like it because it's different from the usual pastel pink and white sets you come across at this time of year.  The box is also great to use for storage once you have indulged in the all treats inside.

Lush offer a huge range of products and inside this particular set are the following:

Prince Charming Shower Gel - Other than the adorable name of this shower gel, it is bright pink in colour and smells delicious.  The ingredients include marshmallow root, vanilla and fresh pomegranet juice and the result is a wonderfully sweet, thick formula.  The scent of this shower gel is famillar yet I can't seem to pin point it so if anyone has any idea what it could be please put me out of my misery and let me know!

Sex Bomb Bath Ballistic - I love the Lush bath bombs, my favourite either being Christmas pud that was Limited edition at Christmas or Honey Bee.  This bath bomb has a completely different scent as it contains jasmine but it smells amazing.  It looks so pretty with the gradient of colours and delicate flower petals that I'm almost sad to put it in the bath and ruin it!

Tender is the Night Massage Bar - This massage bar looks good enough to eat because it looks exactly like white chocolate with a pretty pink flower that adds a subtle pop of colour. It smells amazing and I'm looking forward to using it!

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner - This product is a skin conditioner that is packed full of ingredients such as argan oil, cocoa butter and brazil nut oil to feed and nourish the skin.  This product smells amazing, has a light, creamy consistency and smells delicious but will it match up to the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle I'm currently loving?!

Neon Love Soap - This soap is a gorgeous deep pink that has a fresh, clean and fruity scent.  It's made with a blend of fresh figs and passion fruit juice and looks adorable with the 'love' imprint running over it. This soap is completely different to any of the other Lush soaps I have tried before as they have all had more of a sweet floral scent such as Snow Cake or Honey I Shrunk The Kids (my favourite!).

My first impressions of the Lots of Love gift box is great.  I think it includes a great assortment of products that all smell amazing and would make a wonderful gift for a loved one.  I'm very excited to start using each and every one of them and can't wait to share my thoughts with all of you.. watch this space for a full review on each.

You can buy the Lots of Love gift box from Lush for £26.50 for a limited time.

What do you think of the products inside this Lush gift box? What is your favourite Lush product?

Soap and Glory Eyes Box Review

Soap and Glory Eyes Box

Soap and Glory Eyes Box
Soap and Glory Eyes Box
Soap and Glory Eyes Box

I'm excited to share today's post with you because I am a big fan of Soap and Glory and this beautiful gift set is jammed full of brilliant products.  Before I go on to speak about the components of the 'Eyes Box' I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Gemma who kindly bought me this wonderful gift for Christmas.. you know me too well!

The Soap and Glory Eyes Box set contains the following products:

Thick and Fast Mascara // Link
I'm so glad to see this mascara included in this kit because it is one of my favourites from the drug store.  The bristle's are large and natural and the formulation black and non clumpy.

Eyeshadow's // Link
You get six eyeshadow's in this kit which is a selection from the different Soap and Glory quad palettes.  You get a nice assortment of shades so there is something for everyone whether you are a neutrals girl or colours and all but two of them have a pretty shimmer running through them.  The shades included are a light matte nude, a light brown taupe, a deep rich aubergine, a shimmery turquoise, a matte grey and a shimmery black.

Smoulder and Kohl Eyeliner // Link
I haven't had a chance to try the liner yet but I have swatched it and it looks jet black and beautifully creamy.  I really can't wait to use it!

Brush
This is a two ended brush that seems pretty fluffy so it would be good for blending, I probably won't use it regularly as I already have a set of brushes I love and use every day but I will definitely give it a try.

The packaging of the Eyes Box isn't the normal pink from Soap and Glory range but it displays the products perfectly and keeps them tidy.  Overall, I think this is a really great kit and being a fan of Soap and Glory I adore it!

This gift set was only available at Christmas but you can buy the products separately from Boots.

What do you think of the Soap and Glory Eyes Kit?

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Gift Set First Impressions

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Gift Set

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Gift Set

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Gift Set

Hello Everyone, how has your week been? It's been crazy busy for as me usual but I did find the time to attend an amazing event run by REN which is my favourite skin care brand.  I can't wait to share what I got up to so keep an eye out for a post in the near future.

You may remember last weekend I mentioned being lucky enough to get hold of a Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Gift Set in the January sales in my souffle review post here. Laura Mercier products are expensive but I think even at full price the gifts sets are good value for money although I am glad I managed to pick one up with an amazing 50% discount so rather than paying £60 I only paid £30.  I haven't used all of the products in it yet so I won't be going into detail about them in this post but instead I will be talking about my first impressions.

Included in the set are four products which all have the amazing Ambre Vanille scent.  As mentioned in my post last week I adore this dreamy vanilla toffee like fragrance and it is my favourite from the Laura Mercier range.  The products included are:

Candle - It's no secret that I love candles and this one smells divine, however, I don't think I will be burning it for a while as I want to make the most of it.  I've spent some time searching online but from what I can see it doesn't look like you can buy them individually. *sob sob*

Souffe Body Creme - I have been using this product since I bought this gift set and I love it.  My skin is left soft, smooth and nourished and the scent lingers for hours.  Read the review here.

Honey Scrub - I'm not too keen on the exfoliator I'm using at the moment as I'm not a fan of the scent so if I'm honest I can't wait until it's finished so I can start using this yummy honey one.  I have reasonably sensitive skin so I'm hoping it does the job without being too harsh.

Honey Bath - This looks like a very luxurious bubble bath and I can't wait to give it a try.  The colour is gorgeous and looks like liquid gold.

First Impressions: MAC Cosmetics Limited Edition Veluxe PearlFusion Shadow Palette

Hello Lovelies!

Yesterday MAC released the Veluxe PearlFusion collection which as you can imagine by the name includes six gorgeous eyeshadow palettes which containing five complementary shades with either a matte or pearl finish.

The palettes available are:

-          Pastellux – Pink, champagne and liliac shades
-          Greenlux – Peach, green and gold shades
-          Brownlux – Peach/orange, gold and brown shades
-          Smokelux – Pink, bronze, grey and black shades
-          Pinkluxe -  Pink, violet, purple and plum shades
-          Bluelux – Silver, blue and black shades

All of the palettes are stunning and are a different style from any eyeshadow palettes I have seen at MAC before.  Instead of your stand round eyeshadows, each colour is a rectangular line sitting side by side which reminds me of the Shimmer Waves palettes available at The Body Shop.

The stand out palette for me being a neutrals girl is the Smokelux, which is the one a purchased yesterday, although it was a tough choice.  The five shades in the palette are perfect for both day and evening wear depending on the look you are going for and can be used as a highlighter, all over the lid or as a crease colour.

Unfortunately the shades do not have names but their descriptions from top to bottom in the palette are:

  • Frosty white pink/peach (frost/matte)
  • Taupe/Gold (shimmer/pearl)
  • Deep Bronze (shimmer)
  • Platinum (shimmer)
  • Carbon Black (matte)

Due to the pearl finish of the eyeshadow sadly they do not photograph well and the pictures really don't do them justice.. The Smokelux palette really is beautiful.. so much so that you don't actually want to touch it!

As with all MAC products, the packaging is sleek, professional and sturdy.  The palettes are a great size too so can be easily be used when travelling to create your perfect look whether it be for the day or night!

The limited edition Velux PealFusion palettes are available at MAC Cosmetics for £30.

Which one is your favourite? Do you like this collection?

Smashbox Try Me Kit First Impressions

Smashbox Try Me Kit

I was surfing the Smashbox website and noticed they were offering a Try Me Kit of their best selling products and I just couldn't resist!

This kit contains sample sizes of products which are usually priced at £3.50 each. I think this is a brilliant way of introducing products to people as it gives you a chance to try the products (most of which are pretty pricey!) before committing. It has allowed me to try Smashbox products I didn't really even consider before.

The products that come in the kit are below. I haven't used all of them in depth yet so I am just going to tell you my first impressions in this post. I will do full reviews on each product over the next few weeks when I have given them a good try.

Smashbox Try Me Kit

Products
  • Photo Finish Foundation Primer (clear) - I'm expecting good things from this product as there is a lot of hype around this primer and some even claim it is the best on the market.

  • Photo Finish Lid Primer (warm beige) - This isn't a product I would have normally bought because I love my Urban Decay priming potion but now I have it I am looking forward to trying it to see how it compares.

  • Full Exposure Mascara (Black) - I haven't tried this yet but I have had a sneak peak at the brush and so far i'm liking what I see! The brush is big, I like the shape and it isn't plastic.. so far it ticks all the boxes but the proof is in the application.

  • Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume (iridescent pale nude) - For some reason I was expecting this to be a plain gloss rather than glitter so I was surprised when I saw it was shimmery. It looks like a pretty, every day shade but i'm yet to try it.

  • Limitless Eye Liner (Onyx - Black) - Again, I haven't tried this yet but it looks like a gorgeous, pigmented, creamy eye pencil. I can't wait to see what it's like!

I ordered my Try Me Kit from the Smashbox website and when it arrived I was surprised at how well it had been packaged. Not only did they come in a black box which matches the Smashbox brand perfectly, but also wrapped in tissue paper.. I was very impressed! By ordering directly from the Smashbox website I was also lucky enough to be offered a free sample of my choice - I went for the BB cream.

The Smashbox Try Me Kit is available for £19.00 on the Smashbox website or Boots.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of the Try Me Kit?
