Review | Lush Twilight Shower Gel Review

Lush Twilight Shower Gel Review

Twilight is a shower gel I first came across a few years ago but I re-visited it recently due to loving Lavender scented products at the moment. If i'm honest I couldn't really remember what it was like but the deep purple tone gives the sense of richness which appealed with these dark, cold nights so this is the one I reached for.

I tend to prefer a creamy texture to gel but Twilight still feels light on the skin and I like that the scent isn't too overpowering.  You have a hint of lavender in the background but because this is teamed with a blend of sweet tonka and the more floral ylang ylang it results in a nice balance. I think even those are aren't a big fan of lavender may also like this product as it has an usual twist.

Twilight is especially nice to use in the evening as it is soothing and it definitely helps me to relax before bed. I was a little disappointed it doesn't lather up as much as other Lush shower gels I have tried but it didn't dry out my skin at all and I didn't have any reaction which is always something I worry about when using new products as I have sensitive skin.

Lush Twilight Shower Gel Review

Whilst I like Lush shower gels and do use them occasionally I find them a little pricey for what they are so it isn't something I would buy on a regular basis. More as a nice treat now and then.  Twilight is a shower gel I would definitely purchase again but it still doesn't beat Snow Fairy.. my all time favourite!

Twilight shower gel is only available to buy from Lush in gift sets such as the 'Relax' or from the Oxford Street Store £11.99 for 250g.

Review | Lush Snow Fairy

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Snow Fairy has featured on my blog before but this cult Christmas Lush product is so delicious I thought I'd write a little recap post about it for those of you who may not have come across it. Ideally I would have done this before Christmas as this is part of the Limited Edition range but unfortunately things didn't quite work out that way due to me being poorly.

Anyway, Snow Fairy, for those of you who don't know is a well known Lush scent which is a mixture of bubble gum, pear drops and vanilla (yum!). Primarily it is a bright pink slightly shimmery shower gel and when people refer to 'Snow Fairy' this is usually what they are referring to but the scent is also available in other products too such as the Candy Mountain bath bomb which is just as delicious.

Snow fairy not only looks lovely but it fills the whole bathroom with it's gorgeous sweet aroma and leaves my skin feeling clean. It's a real shame it isn't available all year round as it reminds me of Spring and Summer but I guess that adds to the appeal.

Sadly, the season for Snow Fairy is over so for those of you who have been lucky enough to purchase it in 2014 use it sparingly and for those who want to try it... keep an eye out for the 2015 Christmas Collection to hit stores.. I'm sure it will make a comeback, afterall it wouldn't be Christmas without it!

Review | Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel

*Happy Hippy is a wonderful shower gel from Lush to wake you up in the morning. It's bright yellow colour reminds me of sunshine which is the perfect start to the day and good weather makes everyone feel bright and happy.

The texture of Happy Hippy is a thick gel which is to be expected from a shower gel and it lathers up really well when applied so you only need to use very little each time. The scent smells deliciously sweet, re-freshing and fruity thanks to the pink grapefruit and essential oils (grapefruit and bergamot) and francincence. This is one of my favourite shower gel scents by Lush with the only competition being Snow Fairy... I can't decide which I prefer!

After using Happy Hippy my skin feels clean and the formula is not at all drying which is good.  You can use it as a shampoo as well which is tempting because of the yummy fragrance but I prefer to stick to volumising shampoo's such as Seanik so have never tried it. I'm not really a fan of multipurpose skin and hair products.

You can buy Happy Hippy from Lush starting from £3.10 which is expensive when compared to other shower gels on the market but worth it because of the natural animal friendly ingredients and the fact that it is hand made. I will definitely be buying another bottle of this when I have finished this one!

Review | Sanctuary Spa Nourishing Shower Creme

Sanctuary Spa Shower Creme Sanctuary Spa Shower Creme

I hope everyone has had a good week and has some nice plans this bank holiday weekend. Tonight I will be having a nice relaxing evening with friends as we're having a get together to play poker and have a BBQ (if the weather is good) and we're spending tomorrow with my family which will be equally as nice.

Today's blog post features a really gorgeous product from Sanctuary Spa which is the *Nourishing Shower Creme. I'm a big fan of Sanctuary Spa and find their products to always be a good quality, reliable and smell amazing. This one is no exception. The Nourishing Shower Creme has a beautiful rich floral scent which is slightly sweet and matches the product perfectly because the formula is also rich and creamy.

Sanctuary Spa Nourishing Shower Creme lathers up really nicely and when I use it the whole bathroom is filled with the lovely scent. It feels very soothing and hydrating and lives up to it's name of being nourishing because my skin feels silky smooth after use. I've never used a shower creme that has a texture as soft as this!

You can buy the Sanctury Spa Nourishing Shower Creme from Boots for £7.50.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash Review

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash

Soap and Glory is a brilliant skin care brand which I find to be the middle ground between cheaper high street brands like Radox and more expensive such as Laura Mercier. They have a huge range of products from scrubs to hand creams not to mention make-up too so whatever you are looking for you will find a high quality, reliable product here.

I've never been disappointed by a Soap and Glory product but I definitely do have my favourites. The product I will be speaking about today, Sugar Crush Body Wash is great but I'm not sure it falls into my favourite's because I do prefer the 'traditional' floral Soap and Glory scent. I find the citrus smell of Sugar Crush to be refreshing and lovely for Spring and Summer but it is pretty strong so I do find it to be a little overpowering at times. That's really just down to personal preference, though as my boyfriend loves this scent and I know it is also very popular with other people too.

Sugar Crush is a super fresh body wash that contains lime oil, kiwi juice water and omega rich veggie oil which does a brilliant job at cleaning the skin and leaving it feeling soft, smooth and nourished. It is also foams up nicely and slides over the skin so it's a really lovely product to use and thanks to the pump dispenser very hygenic and easy to get the perfect amount of product in the least amount of time.

You can buy a huge 500ml bottle of Sugar Crush Body Wash for £6.50 from Boots.. bargain!

LUSH PRINCE CHARMING SHOWER GEL REVIEW

Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel

Regular readers will know I'm a little obsessed with Lush products and one of the most recent additions to my collection is the *Prince Charming Shower Gel which was part of this years Valentines range and has never been released before. I haven't actually used many Lush shower gels as the bath bombs appeal to me more but how could I resist trying a product with such an adorable name!

Prince charming is a gorgeous deep red/pink shade that makes a nice alternative for those who have run out of the infamous Snow Fairy which is available during the Winter months.  The packaging is exactly the same and shows off the product to the full with its simplistic design.

The scent of Prince Charming is quite unusual but it is deep, rich and sweet thanks to the marshmallow root, vanilla and pomegranate juice.  Personally I love it and I'm a little disappointed it isn't part of the permanent range! According to the label, you can use this as a shower gel as well as on your hair although I haven't done the latter yet.  I usually prefer to stick to my shampoo's as their are quite a few I'm loving at the moment by as I'm intrigued I will try this product on my hair at least once.  Hopefully the scent will linger longer on my hair than it does my body.

Prince Charming is a really lovely shower gel and when I use it the whole bathroom smells of the delicious scent. My skin is also left soft, smooth and clean.  I will definitely be on the look out for this shower gel again next year and it has really encouraged me to try more shower gels Lush have to offer.

As Prince Charming was part of the Valentines day range at Lush it isn't available all year around but you may still be able to get hold of it if your local store has any left in stock.

What do you think of Prince Charming?

Lush Snow Fairy Review

Lush Snow Fairy

Snow Fairy is a limited edition shower gel available at Lush only around the Christmas period.  It is extremely popular, in fact the Number 1 best seller for Lush at Christmas and a product I have heard about a lot over the years but not one I tried until recently.

Lush are well known for their pretty handmade products and Snow Fairy is no exception.  This shower gel is full of animal friendly ingredients which make up the spectacular and girly bumble gum pink shade which shouts out from the shelf to be bought.  A splash of fairy dust by the means of a pretty glitter also runs throughout this product making it even more appealing and magical to the eye.

The formulation of Snow Fairy is thick, creamy and luxurious so it lathers very well.  It is also concentrated so you use less than you would expect which is great because the product lasts longer.  Snow Fairy is also packed full of essential oils which leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised after use and the bathroom as well as your skin is left with the deliciously sweet aroma of candy floss and pear drops.

I love the scent of Snow Fairy but it is strong and sweet so may not appeal to everyone.  I would definitely suggest giving it a smell before buying but bare in mind the scent is a little more subtle when you are using it.

This shower gel is available in three different sizes from Lush:

  • 100g - £3.50
  • 250g - £6.85
  • 500g - £10.95

Radox 'Feel Good' Shower Gel Range Review

Things have been a little quiet on the blogging front this week as I haven't felt too well (again).  After struggling all week with a constant headache and sore throat I went to the doctors yesterday who confirmed I had tonsillitis.  Although I feel awful, this time we caught it really early so I've got no where near the amount of antibiotics I had last time and I am up and about rather than being stuck in bed.

Despite feeling unwell, this week has been really good.  I was lucky enough to attend the Pandora FlagStore AW13 Launch which was amazing.  I'm not going to say any more than that just now as there will be a blog post all about it on Monday but I had a fab time.  My best friend also returned from her three week honey moon so it's been lovely to catch up with her (missed her lots!) and the new addition to our family, Coco the hamster has settled in really nicely.

Now that I've given you a little life update, let's move on to today's review of the Radox 'Feel Good' range.  When it comes to shower gel I get bored pretty quickly so I'm always trying new ones.  Radox have got a massive range and when I spotted the unusual scents included in their new range I was very tempted to give them a go.

The 'Feel Good' range is inspired by nature so natural ingredients and scents have been used where possible. The first shower gel I picked up is 'Pink Grapefruit and Basil'.  This scent sounded very unusual and if I'm honest I did think this sounded like a strange combination.  However, this fresh scent is lovely to use and it works well because it isn't strong or overpowering.  The second shower gel is equally as nice, sporting 'Key Lime and Peppermint' which is very refreshing.  Neither scent lingers particularly long on the skin which is disappointing but I'm sure this would appeal to a lot of people who regularly use other scented products on their skin.  Each shower gel in this range also looks to achieve something different such as to energise or uplift which is a fun concept.

Like other Radox shower gels the consistency of the formula is a transparent gel rather than a cream which lathers well, leaving your skin clean and soft.  The packaging is also consistent with other ranges and sports pretty, summery colours.

Priced at only £1.00 these shower gels are an absolute bargain and I will definitely repurchase.  They are available at numerous retailers including Boots

Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shower Gel Review

Today's post is a quick review of the mint and tea tree shower gel by Original Source.

I'm always drawn to anything with a mint scent because I think it's such a fresh and clean smell.  This shower gel is no exception.  The most powerful scent is by far the mint and when I use it the bathroom and hallway is filled with this gorgeous smell.

This shower gel is uplifting and is perfect to use in the morning when you need a wake me up. It also cleanses the skin without stripping it's natural moisture and leaves a scent on your skin which lingers for a short time after showering (but not so long you can't use other scented products).

The packaging is sleek and the green tone of the gel perfectly matches the ingredients in this product. This shower gel is also packed with 100% essential oils and amazingly 7927 real mint leaves! I love how this product leaves me feeling clean and refreshed after a shower but I don't find it particularly 'tingly' like it describes on the packaging - not that I find that to be a negative.

This shower gel is available at Superdrug for £1.50.  There are also many other scents in the range including:

- Tea Tree and Lemon
- Lavender and Tea Tree
- Shea Butter and Honey
- Vanilla and Raspberry
- Black Pepper and Chilli
- Cocoa and Vanilla Milk
- Lime

Have you tried any original source shower gels?

Imperial Leather Foam Burst Review

Imperial Leather Foam Burst
Helloo!

I thought I would share a lovely shower gel I have been using recently by Imperial Leather.  This is in the Foam Burst collection which includes the following scents (and I expect more):

 Japanese Spa
 Citrus
 Ocean Spa
 Soft Touch

The Shower gel I am reviewing is Japanese Spa which has the most amazing smell due to the gorgeous Eastern blend of green tea, rice milk and jasmine, all of which are relaxing and good for your skin.

When you first dispense this product into your hand it looks pretty much like your average semi-transparent gel but as soon as you spread it over your body it lathers up into a big, creamy foam which makes your shower feel much more luxurious.  This product really goes a long way as the tiniest amount of gel lathers up into a big foam and therefore it will last a long time.  In fact, I have read that there are over 40 washes in every can which is pretty impressive! Although I have never counted to see if this statement is true.

The product itself is lovely to use on your skin and this one in particular is moisturising and leaves my skin feeling very smooth and soft. I also like that it is something different form your bog standard shower gel which makes the product more enjoyable to use.

The packaging of these products are nice too.  They are just in a standard can but I like the different colours used for each one and they are slim line so take up less room in the shower.  As for the dispenser, I find it a bit hit and miss.  There have been several occasions where too much product has come out (not necessarily a bad thing) as it is really hard to control how much product comes out of this can so that is one thing to be wary of when you are using it.

.

This product is available in 200ml cans from Boots and Superdrug, although I would suggest to shop around as they are on offer regularly.  At the moment you can pick these up at Superdrug for £1.99 rather than your usual £3.15.. bargain!!!
