Review | Caudalie The Premiere Cru Elixir

Caudalie The Premiere Cru Elixir
Caudalie The Premiere Cru Elixir

Over the past few months I have been hearing more and more about facial oils and I've been enjoying them a lot. I don't use them daily, instead I replace them with my moisturiser once a week or more often if my skin needs an extra boost of hydration.

The most recent facial oil I have tried is the *Caudalie Premiere Cru Elixir which is the most recent product launched by this brand and is actually the combination of both a facial oil and a serum. Team this with the fact that is also contains 99% natural ingredients and no chemical nasties such as parabens or mineral oil and I couldn't wait to try it.

Caudalie Premiere Cru Elixir combines a cocktail of ingredients including five plant oils (sandalwood, jojoba, prickly pear, coriander and grapeseed) which plump, brighten, smooth and soothe the skin as well as hydrate, repair, nourish and improve cell function. These combined with the three signature patents resveratrol, viniferine and polyphenols which are said to lift, firm, smooth, nourish and brighten the skin as well as provide anti-wrinkle and antitoxidant properties.

This gorgeous rose and oak scented product aims to boost youth and is great to use for anti-aging which is one of the main appeals for me now that I'm in my twenties. It looks to improve the elasticity of the skin as well as improve the look of dark spots and the impact the environment has on the skin for example through UV Rays.

The texture of this facial oil / serum combination is beautifully light meaning it glides over the skin effortlessy and absorbs extremely well. When people say 'oil' they think of something heavy and greasy but this isn't the case at all with this product. The texture feels lovely when it is being applied and it doesn't leave any residue on my skin. In fact it is so lightweight if you wanted you could use this in addition to your moisturiser if you have particularly dry skin but I haven't found it necessary to do that. It leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished and definitely gives it an extra boost of hydration.

If you want to try the Caudalie Premiere Cru Elixir you can buy it from the Caudalie Website and  Space NK for £49.00 / 29ml.
