With just 79 days to go until our wedding day all of the invitations have been distributed and we are receiving a steady trickle of replies. It's very exciting each week seeing who has replied and looking at their menu choices (read more about the options we gave our guests here) and we've been overwhelmed by the response. After doing research online the general opinion was to expect around 20% of guests to decline but after receiving all of our day RSVPs back we only had two decline which was pretty amazing.
It was a big struggle finding our invitations and it took several months of trawling the internet and visiting wedding fairs before I came across a company that designed some I loved. We chose each element of the invitations from the paper, to the ribbon, crystals and wording on every insert which actually wasn't as difficult as you may think. I knew exactly what I was looking for so when I saw everything piece together I didn't think twice about them, they were perfect.
We have slight variations on our day and evening invites but the front is exactly the same. The day invites are pocket fold which mean they open upwards and the bottom half contains a 'pocket' that holds various cards containing different information for our guests, for example, menu options, accomodation, gift list and RSVP card. The top half of the invitation details the invite itself with key information and of course who the invite is for. We were keen to go down the traditional route so the invite is actually addressed from my parents. The evening invites are similar to the above but instead of a pocket fold are a booklet as we didn't need to include quite so much information. We also sealed every invite with our own personalised wax seal which was a lot of fun!
Overall I'm really pleased with how they turned out and the feedback has been lovely. We've had some really special comments so the long deliberation over which ones to pick was definitely worth it!

Love you invite they look so classy and have that nice girly edge to them. Wow i never realised that was the percentage to expect to decline, seems quite high but I am glad most who you want to share your day with accepted.
